Facebook Widget help - wont install :-(
 

I accidentally uninstalled the Facebook Widget that came preinstalled on my N900

so i looked it up on the Ovi store to download it again
it appears to download ready for installation & the bar moves along, but at the end i get the message "Unable to download 'facebook-services'. Application package not found"

Can anyone help??

Did you try going to the Application Manager and installing the "Facebook Installer" and using that?

i have the 'Facbook Installer' installed
does this make a difference?

i uninstalled the 'Facbook Installer' so that i could reinstally it & it is now not in the application catalogue of the Application Manager so i can download it again :-(
HELP!!


& res i do have the Maemo repository

The Facebook installer is in the Nokia SSU repository. Not maemo.org extras.

When you install the Facebook Installer, it will look for Facebook Widget and Photo Uploader in Nokia Applications.

Distribution: ./
Components: (blank)

Just make sure you have both repositories enabled. (Or you could just look for the Widget itself. Makes much more sense, imo.)

its not working, several application catalogues wont work
it comes up with a message saying:

'Application list partially refreshed
Some catalogues unnavailable.
Check catalogue details'

When i click on details the failed catalogues are:

My- Maemo.com
Nokia Applications
Nokia System Software Updates
Ovi

...and the exact error of the "Nokia Applications" catalogue that fails is what exactly? It should be written in the Details, in a red font.

Oh, I think I know why.

That's the US repository. Tell us what locale you are using and Andre (or someone else) could give you the correct one.

That's the repository you need to enable. (If you have a UK device.)

Mornage, if you can't help but to answer people's questions; consider using the Greeter signature. It's all voluntary though.

although the software version im using is 3.2010.02-8
which is the Internation firmware i do believe (i flashed it to the lastest once i bought it)

3.2010.02-8.203.1 is what I have but dont know uf thats the UK or global. I got my phone after the PR1.1 was released and updated before discovering this forum.

Check all your spellings though, I used to get "some catalogues unavailable" when I added testing and devel but had freemantle instead of fremantle!

can anyone help me with this??

i cannot find facebook widget in the app manager,
and it gives me error if i download it from the ovi store?

whenever i try to install the widget.


i get:

unable to download 'facebook-services'
application package not found.

also tried
apt-get install facebook-services
got a handler fail error.

thanks anyway who can help in advance. ~_~
