Why do you say it is a known bug? It is the first time I hear about it.
There is already a version of macuco on extras. Is this a bug with this release or is it a bug with the version on extras?

EDIT: I see... It is a Qt known bug (not a macuco known bug). We have plenty of qt applications on extras. A lot of people have used them successfully for a long time. Not promoting this release of macuco to extras will not make any better or worst with regards to this bug - it will just prevent the people that CAN use macuco from having the latest fixes/features.

With a long press you will get a popup menu with few options, including back and forward. Not very user/finger friendly but works.

At any rate, maybe saying that macuco it is a "iphone faker" was not such a good idea. The main goal is to be able to access web sites optimized for mobile devices. But because some web sites fail to recognize the n900 as a mobile device we have to help them out.

i have one other suggestion....
while using this apps if we go the status menu we can see a few option for this apps....sadly the option is completely mess up...i would like to suggest you re-arranged the option list.....

look at the pic below....

the green number on the left is the original while the red number on the right is the suggestion one....
if we arrange just likes in the red number we will see a better view in all orientations (landskap or portrait) modes.....

this is only a suggestions..its up to the developer for the final actions...

Is it possible to not open the changelog page on every boot? It's annoying to have MyContacts as well as Macuco2 changelogs pop up every time I reboot.

Thanks for the great app, I can finally check my mails with mobile view, as I have wanted since I got the N900. However, I'm facing a small problem. I can't run Macuco2 from X-Term. If I try to do so I get this:

It should only show once after every update. I can't understand why it shows more than once. In fact I have a guess: you probably just need to exit the application using shutdown (instead of killing it) so the settings are updated and the upgrade complete.

I will change both applications to automatically save the settings after the upgrade so it won't happen again.

yes, that would be great, if the application could save the ua with the bookmarks (if you don't mean the desktop bookmarks, I use them less often, than I thought).

I'm waiting they fix that Qt bug which is crashing Macuco (also).

Oh, didn't know about that... I haven't yet experienced this bug, but I'm not using bluetooth or usb networking. For me this app runs great.
On the other hand: what does a QT bug have to do with this program? At least should others be allowed to test a newer version of this program...

I just changed mbrowser's useragent to
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543a Safari/419.3
and it works.
But there are couple of problems with this: youtube wants me to install safari plugin and I constantly have readjust the zoom of the page to make it fill the whole screen.

This application is really nice and functional. Nevertheless, it could use some polish. Expecially the bookmark menu with square buttons colored in wierdo gradients. Couldn't the vanilla Hildon lists be used instead? Here's an icon I whipped up in the style of iPhone OS:

You can't get (any) iphone apps to work. You CAN access web sites especially designed for the iphone and that check the browser user agent. For that all that you need is to know the URL to the web site.

Since I still don't have a N950 yet and I can't imagine, after so many adventures, leaving my trustworthy friend maemo behind I decided to try something new: save web sites shortcuts to the applications menu (like the n950).

It is actually very simple since macuco already supports a dbus signal to open a web page.

I haven't and don't know if I will implement this functionality on macuco but, since it is not hard to do manually, here it goes an example on how to add a "Google+" icon to your applications menu.

Using your favorite editor just create on your n900 the file:

Notes:

If you want a nice icon you can save anywhere and include the full path to the icon on the "Icon=" line
Everything from "Exec=" to " boolean:true" must be on the same line.

i tried to set a png file, but it didn't work, my line says:
Icon=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/google.png

What do i do wrong?

EDIT:
It works for a desktop shortcut, but not for the menu icon.

when i am using facebook in this browser i am not able to see more posts at the end of the page i can only see a loading icon and nothing else. when i try to access the twitter site it just keeps on loading nothing else .
any one else with this problem ??

I've been trying to use it for browsing Google+, and whenever I try to post anything the circles always fail to load.

Is it just me?

Just spotted this. Excellent suggestion. I'd been generating wgt's to varying success for certain sites that weren't working well on microb ; and was always niggling for Macuco to do this - i.e. with the excellent rendering (larger fonts etc) that it offers.

Saves me a lot of time and removes the need to qtwrt now.

I haven't tested in a while but I remember not being able to access/edit my circles. If I am not mistaken is the only thing that didn't actually work. Let me know if you find others - not that I can do much but would be nice to know.
