Thats great felbutss, but if the backup is corrupted like mine was. you get message insufficient memory and no conversation will be loaded.

seriously? symbian? i switched from a 5800 to the god awful n97 and then to the n900 which i love because symbian is outdated crap and i love how customisable maemo is, nokia are supporting the wrong OS.

on a side not can anyone link me to a list of promised fixes in pr1.2 please?

deleting the db files from event loggers works like a charm. conversation bugs were the only problem that i had with this pr1.2 leaked version. everything else works great...still better than pr1.1 in my opinion.

Well i dont want the glitching buggy symbian i only trying to say that symbian had allot of very nice features that maemo is missing. like the auto disconnect after data use. Make your own playlists. now you can only add music to play now. Ringtones set per contact. There are so many things still missing on the maemo OS. And still i love my n900 :)

And sure it is done by the community. but it would be far better when it was integrated in the firmware.

I'm guessing at least a 50+ or even few hundred people upgraded to this leaked PR 1.20alpha-beta-gamma yesterday.

Not seeing much "issues". I was one of them also and am glad so far that I did as I hated the phone app bug where it kept changing its orientation. This fixed it and just that 1 bug fix made this phone feel a lot better. lol

anyways. I'm running titan's maemo25 kernel and overclocked to ideal profile. (500-850 super low voltage) No issues for past 20 hours or so. I've heavily used my phone since. Phone calls, sms, 3+ hours of web browsing, installed nearly all my previous apps etc etc. Anyways, I think it's as stable as PR 1.1.1 or maybe even more. I also noticed that it used far less cpu during idle. (via conky)

well ive flashed the leaked 1.2 yesterday, so far quite ok, no bugs ive observe ive also overclocked to 900mhz installed my previous apps, no random restarts so far which ive experience quite alot on the previous firmwares.. but like they've said proceed with caution..

There are no issues to report here:
-22hrs uptime since flash reboot
-smooth sailing between wifi and 3g with heavy surfing, browser feels better
-battery life improved to about 120 percent

I can almost recommend this phone to my wife and will reverse the question:

can anybody tell me what to do to crash this phone as amatter of demonstrating the instability of the "leaked 1.2 fw"with without help of external beta software?

Hi,

I updated my phone to the leaked f/w v10 then again downgraded it to v3. Now After downgrading it, I am not able to restore the Sim card.

It says sim not inserted.

Please tell me what to do?

Carry on using the leaked firmware, or live with having no GSM modem until the proper stable 1.2 firmware is released.

This is a known issue, as the modem-Firmware got upgraded when you updated to the leaked, non official firmware. You can try these two things, please give feedback if it helped you out:

If you want to go back to the PR1.1.1 Firmware, you can try this to regain modem capabilities.

I would try this first:

And SCNR, but please do not flash unofficial leaked firmware from chinese servers next time ;)

I'm also waiting for your report.
Even though I am very much satisfied with the leaked firmware, it's done wonders to my N900, I'm a bit concerned about how it will work when the official PR1.2 will be out.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I did as you said. While restart the Nokia had a white screen with blue progress bar. But once it booted, no gsm, so I have updated it again to the leaked firmware and GSM is working on it.

I shouldn't have done that update.

Can you tell me that will I have any problems when official PR1.2 be released and if I have to update to it.

So both methods did not work? Fancy.

I think casper is right, it is hard to tell.
Purely speculating, it should be OK, as the final will probably either use the same or a even newer modem-fw. At least there is a high probability for this.

In case it uses an older one, we are not looking good ;) As I said, this is speculative.

You can also sell your N900 and make a rant/byebye thread like everyone else.

If you are smart you can find a way to cope with PR1.2 for some days. Its pretty stable for me...

Extremely fast battery drain with PR1.2
 

Installed PR1.2 'beta'

No extra apps installed and kept the default configuration.

Battery was at 3/4 after installation was complete.

Used the phone once (10 minutes) and it was locked (black screen) for the rest of the time. No apps were open in the background.

10 hours later I got the ''battery low'' message.

I'll recharge it and install some battery monitoring software after a quick reboot.

Let me remind you that it's a LEAKED firmware. Not even RELEASED by Nokia. So... yeah. Another "Bad PR.1.2 boy".

Hmm. Didn't happen with mine yet.

But I can tell you that it happened quite often when I had PR1.1.1.
So I highly doubt it has anything to do with leaked fw being buggier.

Stop calling it "PR1.2". It is not.
You flashed shady stuff from dark corners of the net, consider yourself lucky if fast battery drain is your only problem.

IMPORTANT BACK UP EVERYTHING AS YOUR PHONE WILL BE FLASHED TO A BRAND NEW CONDITION. ALL PERSONAL DATA LOST!!!
Hi i had the same problem as you. What i did was. flash both fiasco image and firmware latest PR 1.1, Which will give NO SIGNAL SIM NOT RECOGNISED, Now what to do is. From the leaked firmware you downloaded. ie PR 1.2) use this command:
Open flasher 3.5 paste code below:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.12-9_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin --flash-only cmt-mcusw -f -R

Red highlighted identifies name of firmware, And also must be placed in flasher folder as you probably already know.

Just check the wording is correct, yours maybe named differently.

Wait to finish............Phone will reboot....signal again...sim recognised:D

I am sorry for kinda going out of topic, but as many of you already flashed to the leaked PR 1.2, can you tell me if you can actually make folders in the menu? I am asking because i heard that the "More" folder is gone and you can move icons but nothing about custom folders... Thanks in advance :D

The software referred here to is unofficial #N900 firmware causing damage to devices! Don't download! Follow conversations.nokia.com for official announcements.

Hi,
I've noticed that the skype video call appears on some contacts, but not the others in the leaked version.
I know that the icon appears (if it does at all) after I make the first voice call to the contact. But I'm stuck with a couple of contacts which don't seem to support it no matter what I do.

Does anyone know what are the conditions to get the video call button?
