media player control via hardware buttons
here are my questions:
Is the media player widget open source???????? I know that the media player is closed source, but if the widgets for the media player is open source, and whether you may be able to make script or deamon , which will allow the hardware buttons to control play, pause, fast forward and rewind, stop, next - previous song ... ? hmmm???? |
Re: media player control via hardware buttons
if someone could make something that made half-pressing the camera button control the music that would be awesome.
for example single press to play pause, double press for next song. |
Re: media player control via hardware buttons
There is a way to control the hardware buttons on the N900, but I wonder: if you can not control the media player alone, you may be able to control the widget instead...
again: hmmm??? O_o |
Re: media player control via hardware buttons
increase and decrease the volume with the buttons when the device is locked is a feature of pr 1.2 but i'd like to see next/previous track with hardware buttons comming too
|
Re: media player control via hardware buttons
well, yes...
you can decrease volume by simply taking the earphones out of your ears, and if you want to play next track, you must unlock the phone... :P |

You can already skip to the next and previous tracks using the hardware keyboard's left and right arrow keys.

no idea how to do it, but what would be good is:
- long press of zoom (-/+) buttons to change track - double press power button to play/stop |

Re: media player control via hardware buttons
I don't know about buttons, but you can control the multimedia system (including the player). There is an API for it: http://maemo.org/api_refs/5.0/5.0-final/mafw/.

Re: media player control via hardware buttons
what???????
O.o sorry slobodsky, but i don't understand..... |
Re: media player control via hardware buttons
It's because this is a programmer's point of view, not the user's.:)
I don't know how to get signals from the hardware buttons when the phone is locked. I think it's possible, but I don't know how to do it. There is an official library for controlling the media player. You don't need the sources of the player or the player widget. But someone have to write a program for it. |
