Now for the fMMS with Maxis. You can get the 100Mb basic package if you are not heavy user. # If all else fails, you'll need to get Maxis to change your sim card (it happened for my case). # Take note of the file size. If I'm not mistaken, the max is 300Kb??? Hope this helps. Enjoy! |

So instead of helping, you're calling me names, after I wrote up a reply noting that the topic (the creation/existance of an APN) does happen still based on fmms settings, and suggested that he search/read the thread to see confirmation of that? Who's the prick here? Quote:
Would it have been better to let his accusation go completely unanswered? Nobody else answered the question, including you. Should I have simply NOT replied with any info at all? Which is more likely to scare new "memers" off? False information that a key app is no longer supported, or someone saying "no, the answer is Y, you should search the thread for more info about it." If new members are scared off by the thought of using the search feature in this forum, I say good riddance. There are thousands of posts in just this one thread, yet alone the whole forum. If they can't search and expect "support" for their every question instantly, they're more of a hindrance than help. Quote:

Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
Hello frals,
One or two things I have noticed (anyone else?) which could be worked on in future versions if you get the chance. Using 1.3.0 on PR1.3. After opening a new message and returning to the view listing the messages, the message is still highlighted as new (i.e. the view does not seem to update) Also if I delete a message (long press and select delete from main view), the view is not updated and the deleted message is still listed. If I click on the deleted message, it displays "downloading MMS" for a few seconds and remains on the main view (i.e. it does not open the deleted MMS) Thanks |
Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
Hey, I kinda did bad and posted a separate thread on my problem with fMMS here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=68405
Basically its trouble setting it up properly with my Telenor Norway provider, Im sure, however I cannot for the life of me understand what Im doing wrong. Sorry about the mixup, should have posted it in this thread. But alas, such is life. If anyone can help me out on this I would be sincerely grateful. |
Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
I'm having a bit of a problem with fMMS.
I Installed v1.30 and I can't send because I have an error: "Invalid Number". I've tried installing and uninstalling fMMS with no luck. I manually removed the settings, again with no luck. What can I do? |

Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
yeah, I dont have a backup though. My n900 was totally screwed at the point of the reflash. All I got off of it was a folder of exported contact cards and my music/picture files.
Seeing as how Ive had fmms working flawlessly for a year or something I didnt think much of it, honestly. I could've never foreseen such trouble =( ... |
Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
Anyone know how to address the following issue:
I have fMMS with a bunch of picture messages, maybe over 60-70 of them still on my N900. Only way I'm seeing to delete them is literally one by one. Is there a way to select all or more than one and delete? That would be helpful since if I have to do each one seperate, it would take very long and be super annoying. Any help would be appreciated! |

Open X-terminal and type in: rm -r /home/user/.fmms/ That command will delete all the fmms message including sent & received one. |

Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
My MMS settings on Vodafeckers uk are as follows mate, and they work perfectly for me;
Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms User name: wap Password: user HTTP Proxy 212.183.137.12 Port: 8799 All advanced settings (IP, Primary and Secondary DNS) are all set to 0.0.0.0 Resize is medium and connection setting is havoc. Might be the connection setting or alternatively, check your APN's (Settings > Internet Connections > Connections) and ensure that you have a Vodafone MMS setting in there. If not you may need to download fAPN from the repo's and set one up manually - although fMMS should be doing this for you anyway. If you do need to set up an APN let me know. |
Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900

Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
To set up APN settings are as follows:
Connection Name: Vodafone MMS Connection Type: Packet Data Acces Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk User Name: wap Password: user Use Proxy: Checked HTTP Proxy: 212.183.137.12 Port: 8799 Auto-retrieve IP address: checked Auto-retreive DNS: checked Give it a shot and let me know ***EDIT thanks for pointing out the IP was wrong*** |

Once again let me thank you for this app and all the work you have done. The last update was great. I have a couple of things to request or point out. When one clicks reply the # does not automatically go the the to box. You have to pick it to reply. In sms its automatic. Can this be fixed? Also I just tried to delete all past fmms and had to delete them one by one. Can a option be made to delete all? Thanks louiekid PS Keep up the great work for this N900 community is grateful. |

To start from a clean slate, do the following: Uninstall fMMS. Run the following from xterm: gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/fmms Reinstall and start fMMS, go to configuration > settings and fill in/check they are correct. If the "Connection mode" switch is in "Polite", you should have the MMS connection visible in your internet connection list. Hope this helps! |

For some reason after upgrading the fmms I haven't been able to receive mms messages anymore :( I can send them fine. Error log attached.
In the log attached I did: - sent mms to myself - received the push notification - got "error while downloading mms" when tried to open the message |
Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900
Thanks for the reports, I've found the problem and sorting it out now, should have a new version out within the hour :)
EDIT: Submitted to autobuilder now |

this was probably already posted, but i wanted to congratulate frals on having over 1 million downloads! i would definitely list fmms as one of the top (if not THE top) must have apps for the n900, so thank you again for all your continued work on it! in my opinion, nokia owes you money for making a core piece of software that should be included with any phone
