Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

Vodafone seem totally incompetant

now they say the'll respond to the latest letter/email I sent about cancellation by close of business on the 0th of September

Does anyone have ANY idea when the 0th of September is?

Yes this IS from the Directors office

If they have people like that in the Directors office then god help anyone that ever wants to use Vodafone - I certainly wont ever again
What makes it worse is my other half used to be a field engineer for them years agoa and loved working for them then, but now they are just after money, money and more money and dont give a stuff about anyone or anything as long as they are making money for their shareholders.

Can you please confirm my cancellation has been accepted by Vodafone?

I cancelled as I already told you by letter twice but as yet I have heard nothing.

One letter dated the 21st August 2010
And the 2nd dated 25th August 2010 which also included the “proof” Vodafone wanted that my bills would be likely to increase by at least 10%
Both letters were delivered and signed for.
The one dated the 21st - Your item with reference ZW0790*****GB was delivered from our NEWBURY Delivery Office on 24/08/10 .
At 08:58 on 24-08-2010 I have a copy of the signature here.

Ha!

The same Karen Johnson told me I can only ask to cancel when I get the text about charging and will need to put it in writing.

Used the Bitterwallet template and my last 3 months bills have been over by 1500 to 2000 meg so I expect that text after the 8th of this month I hope. Not sure when the cut off will be. I'll be cutting it fine.

Seems crazy to have to write the same letter again. Situation hasn't and will not change!!

my guess is that she meant to hit the 9 key but hit the 0 next to it.

although someone should introduce her to proof reading...

I got an email from them over the weekend that said that as I had got the text and provided my bill info then they will deal with my request. After that there was a statement that said here is what we are going to be posting about what people shoulld be doing. I will post on here the whole thing when I get back home tonight. Hope it means I can cancel, It sounded good, but was left a little vague still.

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

Im not sure if this appies to me, I have 500MB and just received the text that I went over. Can I get it cancelled? or is it only for people who got unlimited data when taking the contract?

Ykho 2010-09-06 23:19

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

I just punched in my tracking number for the letter I sent to Vodafone and this is what I got

"Your item with reference AG581698787GB was delivered from our NEWBURY Delivery Office on 02/09/10 ."

So does anyone know if vodafone will contact me about cancelling the contract or anything? I've not cancelled a contract before (they normally phone me up when I'm due for an upgrade)

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

Im not sure if people are reading this correctly.

> If you think that out of bundle charging will increase your total bill by

> entitled to cancel your account without penalty.

If you have an contract which states, 25mb, 500mb, 1000mb free. Then I dont think you can cancel if they charege you for going over.

Its only for those persons who signed up and were told "unlimited data"

The statement above if read correctly means you need to send them a bill from this month "where you got the text" and then a previous bill from when you had unlimited data. Showing that the no more unlimited data is making your bill over 10% more expensive.

If your contract states 500Mb for example then you never had the previous unlimited data so you are unable to prove its changed for you.

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

Im confused now... on VF My Account says "Your Plan comes with 300 minutes + Unlimited Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport"

Is this unlimited internet?

ddwwf1 2010-09-07 12:40

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

the way i see it is this

anyone who took out the n900 from launch from MPD or the noka flagship sotre on vodafone would have been ssold the device with "unlimited" internet thos who go over 500mb each month like i do usually about 2.5gb a month for me are entitled to cancel for instance

my bill is £40 a month for my voice texts and data if they add new charge in from 1st october and i do 2.5gb i will need to pay £20 on top of my bill for each lot of 500mb over my first 500allowance

increasing my bill by more than 10% giving me justification to cancel penalty free

if however u took out a plan recently after june and u were sold 500mb of data not "unlimited" then you are not entitled to cancel as nothing has changed for you unlike us who were sold "unlimited" and have now been told "unlimited" really means 500mb and then extra charges

im waiting for the magic text even though i have done over 1.5gb this month as soon as i get it im writing that letter and getting the f**k away from vodaFAIL never to returm

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

WHAT kind of idiots do they employ in Vodafone's office?

I got yet another reply to my emails with the Directors office just now

You can see it below a copy of the email reply I just sent them.

Note the subject I used in the email :)

From: ***** [mailto:my email@myemailaddress.com]
Sent: 08 September 2010 17:14
To: 'Vodafone Directors Office'
Subject: For the attention of anyone who can actually read emails properly and know the difference between an email about cancellation, and one querying out of bundle charges I.E. NOT Karen Johnson
Importance: High

The email was NOT regarding out of bundle charges
It was regarding cancelling my Vodafone contract.

It would have taken no more time to write “we will be accepting your cancellation, you will get notification by letter shortly”
Or
“We will not be accepting your cancellation, you will get notification by letter shortly”

I see this email again as a “delaying tactic” to enable the charges to be applied to my account before you tell me that you have either accepted or rejected the cancellation of the contract.

If the letter does in fact state you will not be accepting my cancellation be under no illusions, I will take this to trading standards, an official complaint to Ofcom, it and every contact I’ve had/to Vodafone will be made public by any means necessary including any media company I choose
And I will be taking legal action in the courts.

As stated in my previous email, It has now been 16 days since the first cancellation letter I sent was RECEIVED by Vodafone
to which have had no reply to whatsoever.

I gave you until Tuesday the 7th September (15 days since receipt of the cancellation notice) to respond you have not
It is now the 8th September and I am not pleased in any way whatsoever by Vodafone’s actions and I would guess that any judge will feel the same.
It does not take 16 days to say yes or no, and I should not have had to provide you with “proof” of how much you may charge me when you have the information available at your fingertips on your computer systems.

Yes I was one of the lucky few. Took me 60+ emails, a tracked delivery letter and a couple of recorded calls but I got there and it's amazing not being tied to Voda, I currently enjoy a 2Gb internet package on 3's Sim Zero rate for £5 per month after only having my handset for 9 months out of a 2 year contract.

I sent my letter off last week recorded delivery - I await the reply with interest :)

It seems odd that some people have recieved a text (myself being one of them) that Vodafone thinks you are allowed to cancel with, but others haven't recieved this specific text yet and are annoyed that they can't cancel.

What is this text based on? Data usage? Why have some recieved the text and some not? There must be something that Vodafone are using to choose who they send the certain text to that you can cancel with...

Snaps 2010-09-13 13:33

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

the text is sent automatically once you hit 75% of your data allowance. I already passed my data allowance when the text went out, so when my data resets (tomorrow or 18th sep) im gonna download like crazy to get this ****ing text.

I sent in my cancellation letter already, but as always. I have not had ANY feedback

I'll take that as a confirmation. It'll have to be, because i've already cancelled my direct debit, and i'm not going back on this.
So, if you've tried to cancel and they've refused - don't give up!

Edit - Funnily enough, i'm typing this as I watch Vodafone's CEO give his speech at Nokia World on their website.

Just looking around at what I can use once im off vodafone.

T-Mobile UK do a good sim only package. £25 a month, 900 mins, 500 texts and unlimited internet ("bolt on" you add).

Not a bad package to be on until a better handset comes out and you can sign up to a contract.

make sure you have WRITTEN (hard copy or email) confirmation that you can leave without penalty. otherwise you may be subject to the early termination fee.

anyone can get a PAC at any time during a contract.

Dating back to May when I first heard about it I lodged a complaint, went back and forth about 5 times then nothing until August. Got the text saying £5 on 17 August, sent in letter, wasn't received, sent in recorded letter on 24 August that was received the next day, then sent daily emails to director's office, phoned customer services once every 3 days, recorded the calls, sent them to the director's office pointing out mistakes, really invested some effort into it. I was free by 2 September, so 9 days from my recorded letter being acknowledged.

You have to make a real nuisance of yourself to get it done so quickly though. Start recording calls and sending them to director's office, tell them you are recording them all so you can use them with a third party at a later date (I threatened to publish mine online for all to hear).

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

sent letter 2 weeks ago with no reply. pasted the letter in email and sent to directors office and to ccwebcare. directors office said they will send a letter out. webcare have replied first telling me bull, then i quoted some of the eforum. but she seems to just keep telling me to wait till i get charged.....

Stefan, you are entitled to cancel your contract without Early termination fee when your billed usage is same but the charges are different.

she also said my monthly usage wasnt the same, but its all been about 700mb to 850mb. how am going to have the exact useage every month!!! :o i have emailed this question back, also making note of the poor customer service data enquiry that is 2 days out of date!!

Re: Attention all N900 Vodafone users in the UK!

My bil would go up by around 40%, i've sent my letter in (2 weeks ago) and had acknowledgement that they have got the letter, but nothing since. I rang up customer service yesterday and he seems to believe my contract will be cancelled and my PAC code sent out but I have to wait until the letter comes through telling me exactly whats going to happen.

Telling me?? I'll tell him... I am cancelling, and i'm keeping my phone and ... thats pretty much it!!
