I do have the same problem.

Furthermore, if I turn off the display to safe battery, GPS is turned off as well. So, voice navigation is not working anymore, until I unlock and let the GPS get a fix again.At least with my N95 I can turn off the display, while voice navigation still works.

You may also want to try just making a script that tweaks the settings you need. I'm sure the widget you noted is just tweaking some dbus settings somewhere. You could probably write a simple script to do the tweak, launch the mapper, and when the map app closes tweak it back.

I know Maemo Mapper fixed this a while back, so maybe looking there could give you a clue as to how they do it? Personally I usually have mine plugged in to power in the car when I use it, so it never locks or dimms because it's powered. That may be a solution for you too?

Well, you can keep your phone in the charger and the screen will stay on. Other than that my locks too when not in charger.

Not to raise an old thread but sygic maps 10 still does this. Did anyonefind a real solution?
