It is not a sicrcle at all, it is jus a 3 dots. They are on the right place.

Yes, you just need to copy application-menu.desktop file from /usr/share/applications/hildon-navigator/ to statusbar dir in /usr/share/applications.

I would like that. I like neat packages with all the working stuff in one place. And having it as part of the Community SSU makes me feel like my n8x0's current state isn't so hacked together. Though the changes are awesome!

You can turn it off in Panels menu (as well as other statusbar applets)

This is definitely Large status bar clock and some kind of home-ip applet.
Just customize the font and color and here you are.
