Please help n900 dilemma
Ok people I have now had enough of Nokia.
I have had 8 nokias is 8 10 months. Four n97s, three n97 minis and finally my n900. They have all broke down...or something along the line...been repaired, exchanged and allsorts. My experience with them is disgraceful. Last night the N900 decided that it would no longer charge and after googling the issue it seems that the charge port is not even supported very well, physically. I am a lover of the n900 for many reasons. The internet is super fast....the fm transmitter....hermes....and a few other choice apps.... My hates are the weight, the size, the slow to sometimes unfunction of it as if it were a clogged pc however it isnt clogged at all. The applications are soooo limited. The battery life is dreadful. I dont know how to code anything so I think this phone is wasted on me??? I could go on but what I will leave you with is a want list. I want a phone that can send mms, that has fm transmitter, applications that are usefull and not just stupid (n900fly) a decent battery life and good camera. I dont know what phone will suit me best so can someone help me... thanks |
Re: Please help n900 dilemma
Ok correct me anyone if I am wrong , but I think that the N900 is the only phone with a FM transmitter, so you won't find that function anywhere else. Looking at the rest of the specs you're looking for I would say start looking at Android, Symbian and of course the iPhone , maybe Sony Ericsson's 'Satio' for the camera........

Re: Please help n900 dilemma
There is a problem with the USB port, but if the N900 doesn't have enough functionality for you, well maybe you should go back to whatever sci-fi future you came from! :p
OK I kid (sort of ;)). The N900 can at least match the functionality of any other phone out there but it's not always easy. It's targeted more at the DIY crowd than the "just make it work!" crowd. That said if you want to swear off Nokias I could understand. I had three Toshiba laptops die on me within a year, and they had many other faults. I don't care if the newer ones are any good, I'll never buy another one! |

Re: Please help n900 dilemma
@boosha
I use this amazing network to research stuff I want to buy. You may have heard of it. It is called the "internet". it is an enormous collection of computers where you can share information. I sometimes use a search engine (helps you find information) to find reviews and information about stuff. Some manufacturers actually show what they make (e.g. www.nokia.co.uk). So if you are looking to buy a new phone then I suggest you use a search engine called "google" (www.google.com). Just type in your search critera and google will do the rest. Due to the high volume of information on the "internet" you may have use the synaptic pathways (judging by your post you must have very few working connections) in your brain to reach your own conclusions and to make decisions. Good luck with that. |

Re: Please help n900 dilemma
Sigh. another one.
Why is it we rarely get credible (medium to long term) TMO users leaving N900 with such posts? I dont care what people say or what the authors says i've lost trust in anyone who is new to the forum and is dictating how crap Nokia is in everything they do. And I dont believe you had four N97's, four N97 mini's. Sorry. Just dont believe you. |

The reason why there are links to click on when using google is generally because of people writing replies to threads such as this. Please take your attempt at humour elsewhere as 1, its just not funny and 2, you just make yourself look like a fool. |

they all failed with faults ranging from no reception, backlight failing, waking up to it not turning on.....why do you think i am onto an n900 as vodafone gave me that as a gesture of goodwill as I had such a torrid time! |

"

The reason there are links to click on when using google is because there is a huge amount of useful information out there, not because of threads like the one you started here. |
