Jesus Christ! Can anyone on this forum say anything remotely critical/questioning about the N900 without fanboys jumping down their throat?

I would say that the most major development since the launch of the N900 has been the porting of Android to the device. Lets face it. android is a much more polished OS than Maemo. I don't know what Meego has in store for us, but I can't wait until/if the Android OS becomes usable on the N900.

Other than that, there hasn't been any earth-shattering developments or improvements imho.

Last I checked this was a forum for people who wanted to make use of what they had, not perpetually hear about people's problems with the device. Yes we know it's flawed. Yes we know Nokia does a bad job with managing their community interaction and service. Do we really need a constant, daily, and often rude reminder? After a while it gets old. Perhaps everyone with issues should start wiki pages documenting it instead of filling "Active Topics" with complaints?

Well, polished in one sense. In another, it's completely rotten in how it shoves you into a quasi-Java sandbox. Frankly, while Android may be more "polished," I explicitly moved to the N900 because it was -not- Android.

hardware designed specifically for the OS?
what is the difference between the droid and n900 please?

i could care less about his opinion of the phone.

i do care that this thread has been done over and over and all similar thread should be merged.

if everyone posted about how great the n900 was, i'd feel the same way.

If the threads annoy you so much then don't reply to them, it really is simple!

that's like saying "as long as you avoid deer on the road, your car won't get smashed up"
They're jumping infront of our headlights, how can we avoid that? :P

Meh, people don't have to reply to any threads they don't want to..
IMHO, this is the main reason:

I can't be bothered to read the whole thread - can someone just let me know when PR 1.2 is coming out?

At the end of the month.

Which month? Well, that isn't clear, but I'm hoping this month.

I know my Kindle update is due this month, and I'm quite sure it will be released.

Is it? Wouldn't this imply that the complaints contain new information? Many people here seem to assume that by posting "I would have expected it to sync with Outlook", they're providing "important feedback" and should be thanked. Wrong.

Of course Nokia knows people expect full Outlook compatibility, as much as they expect MMS, video calls or voice commands. They know the N900 is not for those people, and it was never intended to be. Ari Jaaksi himself said this after the launch of the N900: "If you want our flagship smartphone, get the N97"

Telling Nokia that these are the things you miss on the N900 is like telling a catholic priest that you miss the gay porn shows in his church. He'll not think this is a useful feedback. He'll tell you that if you want to see gay porn, his church isn't the right place to go.

So if all of this whining isn't useful feedback for Nokia, why should it be of any interest to this community? Nokia could at least change something if they wanted, but nobody in this forum can. Why then, why on earth do people come here to "complain"?
