need help unbrick my n900
sorry if the answer to this is somewhere on the community
but I've bricked my device and don't know where the problem is to search for a solution I set my N900 to download (over wifi) the neccessary files for easy debian and left it there, when I came back to it the device was off and it only gets to the 5 dots and resets and goes off so any ideas how I can bring it back to life? |
Re: need help unbrick my n900
its a strange way to mess up a n900 :P i think that easy debian is very stable, but you are there and now you need to get out of there.
Thats not called a brick, but a reset loop, and usually is resolved by flashing the n900 There are two levels of flashing, the root partition and the emmc partition. You need to flash only the root partition, so you will lose your installed applications, but not your data (sms, contacts, etc). |

Warning: Offtopic:
Have you realized how there is new vocabulary evolving around N900...."unbrick my phone" :D Kind of reminds me of Tony Braxton's "unbreak my heart" :) |

Some would say that it's good to check the battery too. Especially if you use WiFi extensively...

Re: need help unbrick my n900
" Unbrick my phone, say you love me again. Undo this bricking that you caused after I walked out that door... "
Kinda fits! |

Re: need help unbrick my n900
I love the N900 but the temptation to flash (fook it up) is too great.
Nice experiment but don't we need a 'device' that is robust? Too many variable on the current platform - it needs to be a locked OS with the superior Nokia hardware - that would be a winner. I think its a deliberate ploy to issue a potentially top draw device with the potential to knacker it instantaneously with a flash or two. I want a phone that hold 27 DVD's on a 4" screen but actually works as a phone too. Anyone listening? ATB N900 user (dead) |
