3. The winner gets the trip, 2nd place gets 60% and 3rd gets 40%. Since its not so big money the 4th place would get anyway... But most importantly get the poll up :) I'm not sure what happens when you merge 2 threads - imagine there would be a poll in both.. But hopefully it will work with one. Seems there's no other option anyway. |

That's our final voting thread! :D As usual, please double check over everything and make sure it's how you want it.. especially those pesky links.. :) There were a few projects withdrawn.. apologies guys, we just couldn't wait any longer. Thanks for the suggestion Lukash, I'll get the bounty share poil done after some lunch  Edit: Or.. even better if someone wants to go ahead and start it :) |

Could someone please STICK the voting polls? For example this http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=59080 is already in page 2 in Application's threads.

I have created the bounty share poll with the 3 options we have collected, it runs for the next 24 hours.
Please vote and make your voice heard, especially the kind folks who donated into the prize fund. This is it.. what is decided is what we're going to do :) |

The truth is that basically every user can vote, the things you list like account created before the comp or atleast 10 votes are good ideas but these restrictions are just not available to place on the forum poll. However, if you check out the competition wiki, it says in the rules: Quote:
On a lighter note, have you noticed a lot of the threads for our application entries keep springing up here there and everywhere on the active topics lists? :D Ive been jumping in and out of them for a looksie, it's pretty interesting.. all these new bugs reported, feature requests coming in, questions.. sometimes Im not sure if the developers are happy or not with their new found attention :D Especially some of the lesser well known applications, it's cool to see them get their deserved share of the limelight too  One of the aims of the competition is to get the word out there to people about the great apps we have that they dont see.. and I think to an extent we're achieving that :) When I was writing them up I was reading the descriptions and asking myself "Where has this app been, why haven't I heard of it before??!" The standard is genuinely very high :) I check the voting threads out constantly and I see guys with great apps and maybe only 1 or 2 votes.. sometimes 0.. and I feel terrible for them.. life can be cruel! :o |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] The First N900 Coding Competition! 21st May-21st July. Open to all!
Mmh, small question... all voting threads are in the Application section except the Games Voting thread.
So why is the Multimedia poll under Application and not in the Multimedia section? :) |

While they were moving it, they didnt bother to sticky it though! :p I think Ive requested 3 times for that one to be stickied now, and the same for the others that have been floating around. Seems to just take a while depending who's modding that forum at that time and how busy they are. Im spending all day watching these votes coming in.. it's kinda hypnotic.. seems to be more interesting than doing work.. ;) |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] The First N900 Coding Competition! 21st May-21st July. Open to all!
I wanted to update you all that we're relaxing the rule on enhancements and bugfixes during the voting period.
When we started the competiton, it was done in the spirit of no enhancements only bug fixes during the voting period. It's come to my attention that a lot of these projects have been updated and pushed into the repositories anyway. On reflection, there is nothing in the wiki rules that clearly spells this restriction out. It's also simply unenforcable to be constantly checking the changelogs and versioning numbers of all 50+ projects that have published their changes without having more people spending time to do so. I wanted to let everyone else know asap in case they had anything planned which was delayed by this. As we are a development competition, in this situation I dont see any reason to restrict or stop the development now. It's only a few days left, so to cover everyone from now I propose that small feature updates and bug fixes can be made to the entered applications. However, I will not be updating the competition voting threads to include the new features - how the projects were completed on the July 21 is how they will be represented in the competition threads. I know some of you have been sticking to this ideal and I apologise if you have delayed any updates because of it - as I said, in practise, the way we are set up it's not a rule that we can enforce. I'm afraid it's another of those lessons that's been learned for whoever runs the next competition :o |
