n900 issues as a phone
I love n900 as a computer devise, its a little slow but its good for what it is. Battery is not getting even close to 6 hours as some would say, try 1 or 2 hours and this is my second battery too. The worst part about this n900 is that as a phone capability this is the worst phone I ever had in my live and I use mobile phones sense 1994. I am on phone a lot and will tell you that I get disconnected at least about 10-12 times daily. I also get many times an error message something like "Connection Error" as well as a busy signal to a cell phone as I'm trying to dial out and if I would turn off and then on the n900 it fixes the problem. I know its not from the service provider because I never had experienced anything like that in the past 7 years ever sense I'm with T-Mobile. I'm also very disappointed from the signal strand of the phone to towers, so far I have been very pleased from Nokia's capabilities to get the most tower bars, unfortunately not n900. My wife uses Samsung also with T-Mobile which I think is the worst of them all on towers, but in some places that I don't get any bars she has a signal and is able to do and receive phone calls and I paid almost $600 for my n900, WOW Nokia, way to go!!! I know that there is a meager software update coming up end of second quoter and I hope it will fix the phone problems I have experience so far otherwise this will be my last Nokia phone ever, unfortunately!
Anyone with similar problems? |
Re: n900 issues as a phone
Thanks for telling us that we already have seen like at least 10000 times.. It's better to bump old threads than creating another useless one..
And it seems you have a problem (battery-wise) with your N900... Mine lasts a whole day and sometimes more... and I even have mine OCed... Again.... Search is your best friend.. don't forget that in the future.. I am acutally glad that this is your last Nokia device.. One less annoying person in the Nokia world.. kthxbye.. And the problem with that you don't get signals.. that's not from Nokia.. It's T-Mobile.. It's sh*tty.. And because I've had many other phones they all suffer from the same problem, my brother has an N97.. My family has 3 N95-2... and many other phones.. and they still get sh*tty signal... Oh and it's since and not sense.. |

Bandora, my friend, if you saw my message I explained that I never had experience anything like that with any other phone with T-Mobile in the past 7 years or you just did not want to get it!
Milhouse, thank you for the info, I'll check it out and I hope it will help me to resolve my problem because I would love to continue use my n900, I love it as a computer. |

And btw, this is straight from a T-mobile technician.. They always advice to turn off the phone for about 2 minutes and then turn it back on, as it will put you back on the priority on the network.. I got told many times that if I hear static or I get random weird problem with the network then turn off the phone for a bit then turn it back on.. So that might explain that problem... I would suggest trying maybe going to "Offline Mode" for a bit instead of turning off the N900... Also if you still want to connect using wifi then download the Phone Mode/Tablet Mode app... |

Re: n900 issues as a phone
A new simcard solved most of my phone related problems.
It started with my gf experiencing dropped calls on her phone with T-Mobile, and a new simcard solved the issue. The same thing happened to me when I switched to N900 from a N95. |
