How to use aircrack-ng for WEP network testing
 

Hi All Gurus,

Can any one provide step by step tutorial to use aircrack-ng for WEP network testing..(as listed in aircrack-ng forum) in Nokia N900.

I tried using airmon-ng command (after sudo gainroot) but it throws an error..
can anyone provide this tutorial with screen shot if possible

I have asked before and been linked to the standard aircrack-ng site.

I would also like an N900 guide, or for kismet if easier.

I don't think it is possible yet, but there is another thread here about trying to get monitor mode + packet injection working in N900.

For now I think the easiest way is to use a laptop...

Any update on this with the advent of monitor mode being included in titans kernel?

It is included in 27+ of titan's kernel. Works as described, most of the time. Live injection without association is not.

So in relation to the OP's question, is there an intelligible (to those not so linux savy) tutorial/guide on using aircrack.

Do you need to use it in conjunction with kismet for network sniffing or is this not necessary?

Go read the aircrack-ng doku/wiki/man pages.

That is all. You're not going to be spoon-fed wireless network penetration.

the only thing that was hard to figure out for me was that you need to hit the volume(-) button a few times to get smaller text on the console. also, you have to hit escape and use the arrow keys for the menus in kismet. dark grey text is invisible, so when it asks you about that, make sure you tab and hit enter on the option to change it to another color. that's about it...

first of all im a complete noob !!!
second i found some post about monitor with aircrack-ng
ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
ifconfig wlan0 up
then aireplay-ng wlan0 -9
what can you tell me about that

I don't think, that anyone will provide a step-by-step tutorial "how to hack your neighbours WiFi" in this forum...

Those who want to crack, must be willing to read docs...

In other words:
RTFM, you have to, young padavan... :P
