[Damn...this is offtopic...sorry]
It was in 5 weeks and you should probably compare N900 to N8x and N700 To get picture right. N900 has been big success for Nokia internally. Market and gremlins running around with half brain again show that how little people understand business. This was not device for masses. Developer platform for early adaptors. Sadly Nokia made mistake and advertised it in some European countries as mature device for everyone and right now we are taking some backfire of that here in maemo.org.

Has anyone noticed that when you receive a call on skype it rings a few times and if you don't pick up it drops the call like you have rejected it?

Consequently it won't register as missed call, but rather as received while the person calling you will get a busy or refused message in windows or linux client respectively.

Cellular and gtalk calls don't suffer from the same problem.

Anybody else seeing that?

It will activate when u configure more than 1 service for inbox !! try to add another mailbox and check the same !

Same here.

And one more thing: "An Error occured and the Email-Application had to be closed" - this never happend before PR 1.2, saw it accidentally the past few days. Also, sometimes when I open the Mail-App it shows me "there are no folders" for a second.

And there's still the old bug that the Adressor- and Reference-line at my POP-mails still stay empty (works fine with IMAP-Mails)...

can it be that the arrow-keys and the spacebar dont work anymore with fullscreen-flash? it used to work on youtube when you watch a video in fullscreen - now it doesnt.

haha good point, I totally forgot i was using a non standard theme (matrix) ... went back to the blue one, we'll see if i see this happen again :-)

I've uninstalled maemo-geolocation and re-installed. Anyone else have any troubleshooting tips? I really need to figure this out. BTW, this doesn't seem to work in Firefox either.

Don't know if it was mentioned before in this thread, but some people (including myself) have the issue that emails get deleted from (POP) server, even if the box for letting them stay on server in settings is checked:

Ok this is a strange one but whenever I enable my wifi connection the phone switches to 3g mode and since I am not in a 3g are ruins my cell reception. Its annoying to say the least.

Reflashed fiasco and emmc and this is no longer an issue.

Only cold boots, IIRC. No visible effect though. And, it's not erratic methinks, just very fast?

a) i found that when i change regional settings it wont crash anymore but still cant suscribe i think the service isnt availble in my country
b) still slow after reflash fennec and microb are slow but opera works fine i dont know why
c)works fine after reflash
d)msn(pecan) was the problem

nokia and ovi catalogs wont refresh for some reason but maemo's and extras do

I can't get my email to work. I am on Tmobile service in the USA. I follow the wizard instructions and got inbox once to fill with messages but couldn't send any out and the inbox did not receive new messages. Deleted the account and redid it but now don't even get to see the inbox! Does anyone have step by step instructions?

I also have erratic touchscreen behavior after the pr 1.2 update. Never used that command execution widget. Now after yet another total flash almost no apps and its back again. The screen is acting like someone is taping it (but they are not :) )

I also have this problem, or sort of.
When using 1.1 I had no problem with contacts that had numbers added in the format of "00463611223344" or "+463611223344", the contact was still showed on incoming calls and in the list of calls. (the network presents the number as "03611223344" on incoming calls)

After the update the contacts doesnt show, neither on incoming calls, outgoing calls, the call list.
If I call a contact, the contact wont show up in the calls list, only the number of the contact, in the exact form as in the contact.

I've heard more people having this problem, so I dont think that me and ahmoda are the only ones with problems with the contacts after updating to PR1.2.

I can't reproduce this. What's the setting you have for turning control for the phone application? There are two settings, one allows turning to start the phone app, the other is to enable portrait mode.

Does anyone have a problem connecting to the internet using their PACKET INTERNET CONNECTION after PR 1.2?

My Email app still does not sync my emails automatically :(
Need to set my N900 to check the internet connection every 15 mins to get it work :/
Anyone got the same problem and knows a solution ?

100,000 was actually in 5 weeks and wtf has the cost of an N900 got to do with the cost of an IPad ?? :rolleyes:

As for a success it's. It's a success with me it's a boss smartphone/device doing everything it's master wants it to :p Also no bugs apparent here post PR1.2 update via flasher 3.5 so feel for those having real bugs.

Every software update and every software in general will have bugs. Some related to the software itself and others deal with developments that were relatively unforeseen. Overall, I remain very satisfied with PR 1.2.

Yes, but some software tends to become stable and, in this case, it looks like that the number of bugs increases with time.

I have a problem related to Modest and the Check Names option.

Before PR1.2 I could write a partial e-mail address in the To: field and Modest would search the contact automagically.

Now, this functionality still works but not as well as before. Now if fails to find contacts it could find before.

For example I have a contact with an adress similar to jsmith@server.com.

Before I wrote jsmith in the To: field and Modest would pick the complete address. Now, this doest not work with many contacts. Which is frustrating.

My N900 with PR 1.2 is more laggy and slower than 1.1.1. Do you guys think i should reflash my phone (I reflashed it, didn't update OTA) or is it suppose to be like that?

hrm yeh iv noticed since pr 1.2 update my phone is heaps slower and tends to lag when i have more than one app/window open

I have them above the comma and full-stop, try shifting and it's with the capital letters. (is for me with a UK layout anyway).

My brother got a replacement phone and we upgraded directly to 1.2 and theres no option to choose enable fm-transmittter anywhere. Because its a new phone we never checked if there was option to choose fm-transmitting in 1.1, why should we? We didn't know the problem even existed til now!

So what should we do? Reflash the phone or does this solve the problem. Returning the phone is not really an option. And no the phone is not greek. It should be swedish.

Anyone else had this experiens with 1.2?

Two things that I have noticed:

1) Harder to read small font on browser.
2) Double tapping to zoom on browser is not working as well as it used to. For example, talk.maemo.org and other forums it doesn't zoome to the width of replies. This is super annoying, because it worked so well before and I use it all the time.

I am using GPE calendar and since upgrading, cannot enter appointments at 11:xx or 12:xx anymore, as the last digit entered in the hour-field is automatically followed by a space. Not an issue with hours 00 through 09 because the calendar accepts a single digit and a space as valid input as well. 11 and 12 can also be entered by clicking on the clock symbol & scrolling through the hours, so it may seem a small nuisance, but it makes the GPE calendar unusable for my purposes.

The corresponding option (I guess) in Settings -> Text Input -> Insert space after word is not activated and never has been (tried switching it on, on and then off, but no difference).

I'd really appreciate it if someone knows a workaround for this.

I would also like to know what to expect when restoring the backup made before upgrading.
