btw... I'm a bit sad that no one picked up on my 'both of them' comment when referring to the n900 development team. :eek:

Thats not true at all. I for one find the performance of flash significantly better. Websites where the flash would only play correctly in full screen mode, now play well embedded in the page. I can finally play CNN videos.

could someone update a poll to have those options:
1. updated OTA or NSu, same performance
2. updated OTA or NSu, stopped working
3. Flushed, same performance
4. Flushed, stopped working
5. Flushed emmc as well, same performance
6. Flushed emmc as well, stopped working

so we are sure the way we update does or does not matter?

Ok so basically I used the file from

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.txt

Essentially this file contains a bunch of ad site names and overrides the normal lookup of their IP - pointing them at localhost instead. So here is what you do.

Grab this attachment. unzip it somewhere. backup your N900's current hosts file. copy this hosts file to /etc/hosts on your N900.

Thats about it. Works well for me but I make no guarantees about yours etc.

Could the problem be adblock related?

I haven't (yet) noticed any problems related to PR 1.2 browser and flash usage. I have not installed/used adblock.

would adflashblock not stop the flash ads loading anyway and solve this problem? well nol it doesn't solve the problem since i'm already using it, but i was under the impression that was the whole point of it?

prob not the right thread but anyway...

check your firmware version (settings > about product)

i'm assuming you're on 205 which doesn't have the update and probably won't get it, since it never seen the last update either!
solution: either flash to the 203 uk firmware or the global edition. or: wait, wait, and wait some more.

i'm on 203 version in uk which was among the first to get pr1.2 so if you're on that you should have had it already.
