How to do skype video call?
 

hi guys i have done pr 1.2 now..but how can i do a video call on Skype?? :confused:

and is their a confirmed change log??? for the actual Nokia released update, not the leak....thank you

Make sure both contacts are online and the video call option will appear.

It's a bit finicky.

Very finicky - I could see my video, but the person on the other end didn't get a message to accept video and could not share their own video.

Before the 1.2 update I was able to make Skype video calls, but in GTalk I could only receive. It's the same now. I simply don't get the option in settings.

Perhaps it's an idea to delete the account in N900 and reestablish it? Have anyone tried that?

I guess first remembering disabling sync is a very good idea (I'm using Nuevasync).....

Where is the skype application? I can't find it to install.

Video call works for me, at least on gtalk. Just choose the contact from phone book and there should be option for video call. But you need to be online to call. Oh, and receiver need to have video call feature too.

you cant only make skype video calls to a windows machine running the latest skype (ie i haven't been able to make a video call on my n900).

BUT if some one calls you with video the option is available in the call UI.

lets call it "search" not "damn search" :)
in my experience with search i have come to enjoy the intuition of Google search and i find the meamo search rather pathetic. Just yesterday i was looking to see posts on meego 1.0 and was rather shocked to see nothing about yesterdays release.

another consideration is the search finds a work you are looking for in a 100 strong thread it cant locate the specific post.

from my perspective if the search was more effective it wouldn't matter if people didn't search as much. - i am happy to search on someones behalf if I know the info I am looking for is 100% pertinent. My problem is I know it is in here somewhere, i just cant find it when I look. leading to relying on the community 100% instead of relying on the search.

I've tried it twice one with a mac user and the other with a windows user, I can see my video but the other party couldn't see anything, any idea's? and regarding the search I didn't find the other thread!

It will only work with the latest skype client, which is only available on windows

indeed. make sure you go to update skype on the windows machine as auto updates on skype rarely happen. i believe its in tools, update
