The way I see it - DS emulators can't even run properly on desktop PCs. Why would desmume run great on the N900? Same ARM architecture as the DS?
The emu runs smoothly on my 7 years old pc so i think that the n900 has the potential of running some ds games :).

It runs terribly slow though.
So slow I see no hope in getting it playable.

I can't find it. And that makes me sad :-(

Is it still called DeSmuME in extras-devel?

That made me die a little inside :'( Is it utilizing GPU at all? and if not.. is that attainable at all in the near future?

Could a massive frameskip be utilized simply for RPG gameplay? :P

It would take some really talented emu engine coder for this to work properly. Too bad maemo.org lacks those (no offense smoku, javiq, javispedro)

Yes I'm upto speed on this too. But Exophase (GP32X) had a good technical explanation for this but in there he did add that a good optimized emulator is good investment for future devices. Had me thinking of PSX emulation on the Wiz (which was very choppy then) got optimized to a playable state (without sound). And I think it was that effort that helped PSX emulation gain fullspeed with sound for the Pandora before it was even mass produced.

I hope my idea is helpful for future device. And +1 to smoku for the effort.
