Oh and you should stop bringing up the engineer thing.

Seriously

I worked as an engineer, too. Senior Network Engineer. I guess that qualifies me on this topic, too, right? :)

Can we turn this into the puffery thread? PLeeeeeease?

Nosa i cannot agree with you i am sorry to say so i will just let everyone now go to the thread concerned and read it all for themselves.
All i was doing was trying to help the overclocking in a safe way that would allow the device to handle such heat.
OK that is all i am prepared to say.

But that's all you had to do. Just put that out there as a helpful warning and suggestion and then stand back and watch the magic as people, one by one, idiotically burn their devices. It gives you the opportunity to smile and say, 'I told you so.'

No need to wage a war over it. You said your peace and even suggested something useful. Let it be, lad.

OK, guys, let's cool this a bit so I can inject some reason.

1. abill_uk, you would do well to listen to what posters here are telling you, and take responsibility for the consequences of your actions. Being a spamming pain can be as bad as or worse than cussing or attacking people.

2. Flandry is a good moderator who innocently used a warning/escalation feature that has not been officially supported yet.

3. Now that this has erupted, we are currently discussing going ahead with full and regular use of the infraction system. Odds are it will be adopted.

Everyone can relax now. No conspiracy.

EDIT: I have also made the title more appropriate. Flame away.

Re: Question about moderator use of infraction feature

Here's the thing, abill_uk, you keep on making personal attacks even if you have been warned several times by different moderators. Flandry gave you a 10 point infraction to document your behavior.

If you attack other members, they will probably attack back. We moderators and admins usually blame the one who started the attacks and guess who got blamed?

Regarding the infractions feature, right now it does nothing but lets everyone see how many infraction points a misbehaving member has. It helps us moderators see who gave an infraction and when a member received the infraction, and decide what to do if the member keeps misbehaving.

We are all talking about how to implement the infraction system. When we're ready, we will start a thread to introduce the infraction system so everyone can comment on it.

Thanks.

EDIT: btw, I deleted your off-topic posts in the Overclocking thread since they are not related to the original thread and you have started this thread already.

The new title makes my post off-topic. I thought this thread was about the disruption of the Overclocking thread.
