No offense, but if you don't know that or can't find it you're probably in over your head already and should leave installing and testing beta software to those who know a bit more about linux. |
Re: home/user/
Well, if you just want to create a file, try opening xterm. Then type touch gstreamertest and hit Enter. That would create a file called gstreamertest .
I don't see what good that would do, but I think that's what you are asking for. But the other comment is correct. You should probably not do this project right now. |

Re: home/user/
there is already a directory file named gstreamer-010 u can see that if u type in xterminal ls -a and all the files will shown and u can put the file u want to put in ;.gstreamer-0.10
e.g. mv /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/yourfile /home/user/.gstreamer-0.10 |
Re: home/user/

Look, seems you're asking people here to give you basic linux lessons. You can do it better yourself with a little effort than we can here posting back and forth. You said you like the deep end. Well, Google is your deep-end friend. Do some searches for linux basics - file system structure, simple commands, etc. Maybe download and run one of many 'live' distros from USB stick or CD to get the feel of using linux in a no-risk way. Then you can come back here and ask better questions. |
Re: home/user/
all i am looking for is a quick terminal input to give me an idea but no one is willing to help thats what i thought this site was all about helping others which i have done with flashing. linux is new to me and giving me a bit of help would be much appreciated but some experienced are way too up themselves to help and give very sarcastic comments out.
