Bora 3.1...

Re: Bora 3.1...
What errors are you getting?
Are you using flasher 3.0? |
Re: Bora 3.1...
Been lurking here for weeks since I got my N800....
I have no idea how to install this "update". I've already used the flasher tool to put my N800 into full-on root mode (?) to get past the dreaded constant reboot error and have recently reflashed it with the new image that came out a few days ago. Solid as a rock so far. But two things I want are: SDHC capability ( I think I have this one figured out...it's just a kernel reflash and Kalle has the exact command-line procedure for it) and this 3.1 update. So what's the exact command(s) to reflash the N800 with 3.1? I'm not a programmer so I get bogged down in the readme. To me it just sounds like some sort of update to the SDK to get it in sync with the recent image released a few days ago. |
Re: Bora 3.1...
The way you are trying to install it is for scratchbox which is use in the development enviroment...
Thats what the instructions are showing you and how you can do it from apt-get.... If you want to use the latest firmware flash your N800 with the latest bin file. RX-34_2007SE_3[1].2007.10-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin |

Re: Bora 3.1...
The BIN file you list isn't in there.
The only one in there is: RX-34_2007SE_3.2007.10-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin (note how the [1] is missing between the 3 and the .2) And what exactly did 3.1 "fix" anyway? Looks to me it's just a patch to sandbox in the development environment to bring it up to sync with the latest firmware release. |
Re: Bora 3.1...
Click on the download file you will see the [1]

Re: Bora 3.1...
Ok, can someone ELSE point me to the correct link?
Looks to me like your machine is adding the [1]. Noticed how I copied the actual LINK ITSELF and pasted it in here? |
Re: Bora 3.1...
I would like to know how 2 different pc's and 2 Linux systems are actually adding the 1?????
My last attempt to help you.. Giood Luck |
Re: Bora 3.1...
They are pulling it from a cache somewhere.
All I know is when I go to the official download site, there's no [1] in there as I've already demonstrated by copying and posting the link. |
Re: Bora 3.1...

Double post sorry

Re: Bora 3.1...
S[31415]eRi@IDiE,
No there is no [1] in the original filename. It is a standard windows behavior to indicate another copy already exists locally. |

I say he is pulling some legs.
SeRi@lDiE snapshot from linux boxes please? |
Re: Bora 3.1...
You know, I have seen Windows arbitrarily add file incrementers, but that one is sure in an odd location, especially given the coincidence of version. (3.1, 3[1]). But, the source file doesn't have it, soo...???
|
Re: Bora 3.1...
This is funny... I know windows would do that but only if the file exist in the system I went to serveral systems that I never touch with maemo so thats that there :)
I am going to snap a shot of my nix system once I get home... |
Re: Bora 3.1...
No [1] for me, although Windows is appending (2) to the file as it looks like it's the same firmware I downloaded when I upgraded earlier this week.
|
Re: Bora 3.1...
ahhh crap.... How come every single windows system I touch is appending [1] to it?
|
Re: Bora 3.1...
Ok I just jump in to my friends laptop....
FC6 and hes is not doing it  WTF? How come systems that I have not touch (Windows) are appending [1] to it? And I can swear the systems at home did the same ****... Ahhhh crap the stupid one is me :o :o :o :o :o :o :o |

Re: Bora 3.1...
Anyway, to clear up the confusion:
Bora 3.0 is the SDK for the original 2.2006.51-6 firmware. Bora 3.1 is the SDK for the latest 3.2007.10-7 firmware. The Bora 3.1 SDK announced on 30 March is the SDK release that corresponds to the 3.2007.10-7 firmware already released last week - Nokia typically release the SDK to developers a week or so after the device firmware becomes available to users. So for device-only users, this announcement is not that important - you already have the latest Bora 3.1 firmware. No need to panic! :D SeRi@IDiE - it's probably an Internet Explorer cache-thing you have going on there. Try using a decent browser, such as Firefox! :) |
