Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
Would it be possible to enable FM Boost from qspot directly when activating FM Transmitter? Would be great and saves couple of seconds of time :)
Also question: What happens if 3G connection is lost (and even edge, happens sometimes when i go around hoods with my bicycle). Does it automatically go up when 3G is available and tries to playback again? |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
Yes it is true that the user base might increase that way. I have indeed been thinking to promote QSpot at some point to extras-testing. And as soon as the most severe issues with the library have been sorted out (and the Artist View added) I think it would be a good point to move it there..:) That way I would also get additional testing feedback. Thanks a lot for your comments! :)

I am myself using FMTX Faker, which automatically handles the signal boosting when the transmitter is enabled. I guess it would be possible to e.g, add some cnfiguration option whether to automatically run FM Boost as well..:) I will add it to the todo list.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
I checked how the library is connecting to the Spotify backend service, and it seems that is trying to connect using tcp port 4070 (however, it tries several different hosts before giving up and reporting backend error). From the logs it can only be seen that it is definitely the Spotify login operation that returns the backend error.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
I have currently concentrated on the default landscape mode support, but I have also considered possibility to add portrait mode support (also as a user configurable option). The main / playlist / search views should be quite straightforward to get to work well in portrait mode, however at least the Now Playing view will need optimization. Any suggestions / ideas how the Now Playing view could be arranged in portrait mode? :)

One thing about portrait mode: is it possible to open the "status menu" (or whatever it is officially called) in the portrait mode? I mean the control buttons for internet connection, bluetooth etc. Or is this something that Nokia has locked down? |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
Thanks for the suggestions, I will see what can be done about the portrait mode support..:) The status bar area is not accessible in portrait mode (at least in the current firmware). Hopefully this will be fixed in some later firmware update.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
Another feature request: would it be possible to open the Spotify links posted on the web (for example I get a lot of Spotify recommendations from my friends as links on Facebook) or on email with QSpot?
Thank you for your work on this Spotify client, I really appreciate it! |
