Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
I have investigated the shuffling bug, and was able to find and fix one problem that caused the problem as you described it. The fix will be part of the next QSpot version, hopefully it will work better then..:)
I also tried to look into the jamming problem, however I was not able to get the device into such a jammed state that the screenlock would not open at all. It is however clear that memory usage is not optimized, and it will require a different solution at some point. I used buffer sizes of 30 and 300 secs for testing, with high bitrate 320kbps. Optimization of the use of e.g. memory swapping could possible improve the situation. Quote:

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
There will still be some minor changes to the artist view (e.g., the album icon will be different); however, I will try to post a preliminary screenshot of the new artist view tomorrow..:)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
I have now added a screenshot of the current artist view to the initial post in this thread..:) However, likely some minor change(s) will still be done to the view (it is scheduled for the next QSpot version).
Edit: I had planned the new version to be released next week, but due to problems with recovering some accidentally deleted files, I estimate that the next version will be available in around two weeks time. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
I've a problem installing qspot. It just says "operation failed". Can you deduct anything from that? I have no idea what the problem is. It's the latest version I'm trying to install (qspot_0.1.0-7_armel.deb).
This is really frustrating, the main reason I'm paying for Spotify is to get it on my phone. e: Now it's showing in my applications, but still won't open. No errror message or anything, the phone just returns to the desktop. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
QSpot depends on the libopenspotify library, did you install it as well? If you installed qspot from the extras-devel repository the library should have been installed automatically, but in case you downloaded qspot from the garage page you also need to download and install the latest libopenspotify version (which you also can find from the garage page).

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify
Do you still experience the same problem? I have not myself experienced the problem; both today and yesterday playback has worked ok.

no. spotify doesn't want non-paying people to be able to use spotify on their phones. the whole thing is designed that way.
