no playback is back on track since lunchtime today.

Just wanted to inform that the next QSpot version should be available this week, if everything goes as planned..:) This after having recovered / re-written most of the code developed since the last release due to data loss).

Sounds great! I'm waiting impatiently ;)

Did you have time to implement the "most played" by pressing m? or is that possible to add in a later version?

I have implemented sorting by most played by pressing 'm' key, so it will be in the next version..:)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] QSpot, a Qt-based Spotify client based on libopenspotify

Well, finally QSpot version 0.2.0-1 should now be available from the extras-devel repository (as well as from the garage page). This is a major update; check out the changelog below for the details. I hope you will like the update..:)

Changelog:

* Added new Artist view (accessible by longpress in playlist / search results / playqueue views).
* Added Last.fm scrobbling support (Enabling of scrobbling / Last.fm user credentials configured via the Settings dialog).
* Added access to Album review (Album view).
* Search results / playlist view can be sorted by most popular using the 'm' key.
* Misc. fixes (e.g., fixed handling of Scandinavian characters in the username / password at login; fixed problems with shuffle mode).

If the version seems to be ok, I have considered that I might push it to extras-testing at some point.

Just noticed on the Spotify list that Spotify are planning to release a native ARM library before the end of the year... jury is still out what features would that support but hopefully we would get offline playlists (fingers crossed)

excellent update as always.

Love the new keyboard sort-function as well as the new line presenting the track you are playing.

It would definitely be great in case a native ARM library would be provided officially by Spotify..:) The underlying library used by QSpot is API-compatible with the offical one as well. Currently, the official libspotify does not support offline mode for the current plaforms, so it might be the same for an ARM version as well (offline mode is only implemented in the official Spotify clients, e.g., for desktop / mobile (iphone, android, symbian etc.).

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I also find the sort function very useful, as I prefer to have the search results sorted that way..:)
