Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
Hi,
I have been unable to mount my N900 from my UBuntu Lucid pc. Not sure if its happened with n900 update to 1.2 or ubuntu update to Lucid? Basically i plug it in with USB, select Mass Storage but then nothing happens. Alternatively i used to be able to connect to the N900 via Wifi but when i try to connect to server in Nautilus it get 'Host key verification failed' So basically i have no way to transfer to/from my N900. Any help appreciated |

Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
i have a workaround but would love to get it fixed.
the workaround is: Connect N900 to my other PC via USB and SSH into the other PC. :D |
Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
assuming that you are comfortable setting up an ssh server on your n900 you could ssh directly from your first pc. for a slightly improved workaround at least.
are you 32 or 64bit lucid? what os is on your other pc? it sounds like lucid may be at fault here as you can mount the n900 elsewhere fine. |

SSH already installed on N900... or it was before updatet o 1.2. WIll check again just now. |
Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
Aye. SSH still installed.
I tried deleting the .ssh/known_hosts file. That seems to have done the trick. just need to fix the USB side now but i am thinking that is related to my installation of ubuntu given that it works fine on the other machine. THanks |
Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
good luck with that. it does sound like it's at the pc end.

Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
This sounds silly, but... You may want to check the port... Could be some dirt or dust in the port causing communication issues. Did you try it on another port on the computer?

Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
Confirmed working on Ubuntu Lucid (Studio) x64 on generic kernel here, if that helps at all.

Re: Unable to mount N900 in Ubuntu
Probably right after you plug in your N900, a look at dmesg's last few lines and the syslog will give you a clue why it is not recognized properly and why its partitions are not recognized.
BTW maybe PC Connectivity app installed on N900 may have something to do with it too? |
