Slow N900

Hi,

and (as usually) sorry if there is this kind of thread somewhere.

My question concerns the speed of N900. First of all, I, unlike others, dont see any increase of performance after PR 1.2 upgrade. And secondly, I feel the device is just ... slow ... I found it little slow in the beginning, but I guess the initial enthusiasm just wore out after having N900 few months. I dont know why is it so slow, but the fact is I flashed it just after 1.2 was released tells me its not about using it for too long and messing the system. And I use titans kernel-power to OC (up to 900-1100, depends on my mood :) ). And Im experimenting with different transitions ...

So, question, is there any way to increase the speed of this device any further? After trying friends Desire, Im kinda temted to desert to the HTC ... only the fact N900 has linux inside keeps me undecided ...

Flashing only rootfs leaves stuff in n900. Also restoring same apps that you had before flashing is not either helping to pinpoint problem source. To see if it is really slow then do following

-Backup and copy backup to desktop pc or micro sd
-flash emmc and rootfs
-restore only contacts and conversations
-use it. is it slow?
-if so then try overclocked kernel
-use it. is it slow?

AND NOW you can install apps/widgets and experiment if it starts to get slow.

If you've always found it slow, well, "there's an app for that"!

Install transition control, and modify the transition intervals.
The simplest way is to change all that is 25 to 10, and leave the rest alone.

It feels snappier then to most people.

Im gonna try that. Just for the record, I flashed both eMMC and rootfs at the time of upgrade ...
