Your options are:-
1.Wait an eternity for Vodafone so issue this and future firmwares
2.Do a full back up to memory card and update using flasher 3.5 to the latest PR1.2 of the non Vodafone UK firmware (varient 203).

I would not hessittate in doing the latter. this removes the teather to Vf and their stupid firmware update policy and DOES NOT invalidate your warantee. Many people have already done this.

You can still do a back up to the phone and it shoudl not over write. Also you can do a backup using OVI suite too.
