Problems with LED pattern and keyboard light

Hi guys

I have problem with LED patterns and keyboard light. They don't work and when I try to LED Patterns program and do LED test there is error msg: "Exit status: 65280 faild to set red led current"

Anybody knows what is wrong??

This is the LED pattern editor failing to open /sys/class/leds/lp5523:r/led_current for writing. Could you open the terminal and check if it exist?
Code:

~ $ ls /sys/class/leds/lp5523:r
brightness  led_current  subsystem    uevent
device      power        trigger

Is the LED driver loaded (does the led_class and leds_lp5523 kernel modules appear in lsmod output)?
Code:

~ $ lsmod | grep leds_lp5523
leds_lp5523          9792  0
led_class            2948  2 leds_lp5523,leds_twl4030_vibra

no such file or directory
"twl4030:vibrator" is the only folder i have in /sys/class/leds

Same results here too

the LED drivers is loaded but there is no such files in the /sys/class/leds only twl4030:vibrator

:(

If these files were deleted any way to get it back?

Can you check what appears in the dmesg output when you remove and reinsert the kernel module (needs rootsh installed)?

Code:

~ $ sudo gainroot
/home/user # rmmod leds_lp5523
/home/user # modprobe leds_lp5523
/home/user # dmesg

I really didnt want to do a reflash since i had customised the apps badly.

Now the problem solved itself after i removed the Sim.

Thanks for your help anyways.

Just had this LED and keyboard light failure myself.

Got the "Exit status: 65280 failed to set red led current" error in LED Patterns, so pulled the SIM card and everything started working again.

This works for me too.

My problem was caused by a FCam crash...

Another data point: removing and replacing the SIM card fixed this for me too...

Me too! This is beyond me, but as soon as I pushed down the power button after pulling the sim, the led lighted up and keyboard light was working to.

I turned the phone off, put in the sim and it's still working.

Thanks guys, no more onscreen keyboard at night! :D

Re: Problems with LED pattern and keyboard light

Hmm. I feel that pulling the sim and booting also boosted scrolling perfomance in MicroB.

Can anyone with more knowledge than me possible explain what happens to the phone when you boot without the sim?

I'm not 100% certain that the difference is truly there, it might just be the reboot, but maybe someone else will give it a try?

I imagine the GSM stuff might not be loaded if you don't insert a SIM card, but i dunno for sure

hi
i suggest a simple unusual way

shutdown your device
pool-out your battery
open your keyboard flip
connect your USB cable
look at your led when you connect the cable to your PC
it will do 1 yellow Flash
disconnect your cable from your PC
press "U" and hold down and reconnect your USB cable to your PC
insert your battery
next disconnect your cable
pool out your battery
now your LED will work
insert your battery and turn on your device
now your LED will work probably
enjoy
