Thing is, That clearly states that its a "Clone" of the N900 and not an official product.

It would be good if someone could create a guide on how to tell a genuine N900 from a fake one, or at least if any people scammed could provide us with information on where they acquired the product.

OP, Sorry you've had this trouble I'd be pissed.....
As other people have said contact Nokia directly and hopefully they should provide you with documents proving it is fake for PayPal. Luckily PayPal fully protects your purchases so you should get your money back, happy days! Could you provide us with the location you acquired this phone so we can Flag it for potential N900 buyers in the future.

My tip for anyone buying an N900 online, Do it through an official website and try to avoid Ebay unless the user has an AUTHENTIC Pictures and a decent seller rating

Well, maybe they're competing with those iPad clones from China that we saw in another thread. Sadly, the iPuds (I think they were called) at least ran Android. heheh Also... $129. That should have made it clearly obvious.

obtain a document from an unbiased, third-party, such as a dealer,

question (other than yourself), which clearly identifies the item as not
authentic. The document must specifically state how the item received
differs from an authentic item and must include a detailed explanation of
how the person evaluating the item determined that it is not authentic.

Jeeez, don't they know how to use Google Image Search in the Paypal office?

Get on the Nokia Support site here: http://www.nokia.ca/home Click "Support" then "Contact Us".

@elbebe: take a picture of the label on that device (behind the battery?). I can give you a picture of the original one for comparison, there should be enough detail and markings there for Paypal.

The Nokia N900 User Guide includes screenshots. It may be of value to you.
