I've just tried it, and it doesn't work for me because I use 2-step verification for my google account.

If I look at the debug web browser, I see that google is requesting the code they sent via sms, but qgvdial "gives up" too fast, without having time for me to receive the sms and put it in.

So I would like to request support for google 2-step verification :D

Argh, I knew there was at least one person using that... :P
Can you tell me how to activate 2 step verification? I'll have to activate it on my account so that I can test it.

You can activate it by going to the google account settings:
https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsAuthConfig

and there should be a link to turn it on.

Thanks! It seems to be working now (I get the prompt for the sms password), but after that, since I haven't yet made the first-time setup, it just says to log in on a computer (MY N900 IS A COMPUTER :D) and make it there.

Kudos again for the very quick fix.

I'm trying to get selected for an n950 to port qgvdial to it.

i think it is great. i can now listen to the messages without calling or using my browser.


cons:

-it will not allow me to make calls.
-it shows the entire history of calls and sms
-i cannot delete or archive something so it doesnt show up anymore.

Ok. .. Wait, what? You cannot make calls? What did you try? What fails? Whats the error message?

You don't want it to show the whole history? Do you want a date range? Or have I completely misunderstood?

Hmm.. This I can easily do. There is a deleted flag that I get from the Google Voice servers. If I see that I can chose not to show an inbox entry. Deleting an entry may also be possible. I'll have to reverse engineer the delete command, so it may take some time.

PS: Please comment on the Meego thread so that I can port to the n950 and thus the n9.

i click on the phone icon, dial, and it says "unable to dial because settings are not valid"

i would like to choose date range or new only.


to be able to delete woluld be awesome so that we do not have to search all the messges.
