My friend last night was telling me an update was released for froyo on his phone. The update overclocked his cpu by 200 mhz and froyo runs slower on his win mobile phone I lol'd, but he has phone and everything else working, You getting us there DJ Steve!

When you release the new update how do we existing users upgrade to the new build?

Thanks for pointing that out :P .. Anyways, the boot menu worked and everything, however when I press 4 (R), I see the text and, the a few seconds later the NITDroid video starts looping .. But it stays in this loop forever .. I've left it for as much as 15-20 minutes, and the NITDroid Matrix video keeps playing repeatedly ..

I saw that in the boot menu the third option is the same as the 4th one, so I tried the 3rd one, and as far as I can tell, the behavior was exactly the same ..

Here are some pictures from after I select the 4th option:

Also, when I boot into Maemo and connect the N900 to my PC in Mass Storage mode, I see the 1MB partition now .. How can I change this so that I see the internal 27GB of the N900 like before all this ?

now with a fully charged battery android still shuts down because of a low battery.
I deleted bq27x00_battery.ko module which be found under /system/lib/modules (Android rootfs).
Now it shows instead of a red battery icon an questionmark and on the locked screen it wants me to plug in the charger.
But it works know I think

Am getting exactly the same problem. Am going to try this possible solution.

Choose option 1 or 2 in multiboot, then you should be able to OC in maemo, works for me ;)

About the no space left, it sounds like it has mounted the rootfs on your phone. Try check the rootfs memory, if it says 0mb just do this in exterm and then try remount the mmcblk1p2 and re-extract the .tar file.
In xterm:
cd /and 'enter'
rm -rf 'enter'
(i'm not sure if you need to be root)
Hope it helps :)

e: Also try this in xterm before extracting again, just to see if you have the right partitions.
In xterm:
sfdisk -l 'enter' (-L)
(you need to be root)

Ok did all that and now reextracting it to see what it says

ohh and when i look for the second command you posted to check the partition what all should i look in there?

ok extracted again and same error no space left

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic

You should look for this:

/dev/mmcblk1p1 0+ 3199 3200- 102399+ c
W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/mmcblk1p2 3200 30999 27800 889600 83
Linux
/dev/mmcblk1p3 0 - 0 0 0
Empty
/dev/mmcblk1p4 0 - 0 0 0
Empty

The size of my partitions can differ from yours, but they should be called the same, p1=fat32 and p2=linux (ext3), then the partitions are right :) Remember that the mmcblk1p2 (ext3) should be under 2gb if you want android market to work ;)

e: Bummer. How does your rootfs look now in mb's?

somedude 2010-07-18 23:04

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic

dev/mmcblk1p1 0+ 67199 67200- 2150399+ c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/mmcblk1p2 67200 121007 53808 1721856 83 Linux
/dev/mmcblk1p3 0 - 0 0 0 Empty
/dev/mmcblk1p4 0 - 0 0 0 Empty

thats the output from that code

Just went and bought my self a new sd card trying to install in it already upto the point where I download nitdroid which it is doing right now. will see what it says this time

Dousan 2010-07-18 23:10

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic

So the partitions are there...

e: ahh ok, good luck with the new sdcard ;)

Then you must be in a really different timezone than me, it's over 1 am here lol :D

E: be sure to check rootfs memory, if it's full (0mb left) don't reboot, it will brick the phone and you will need to flash it. If full then just do the code in xterm.

cd /and 'enter'
rm -rf * 'enter'

That should clean up the wrongly extracted files :)

when i put in the command

mkdosfs /dev/mmcblk1p1

Yep, there is a fix for this. Not sure if all apps show up, but they should.

Step 1. Boot into maemo.
Step 2. Mount the android partition like you did during installation
Code:

sudo gainroot
mount -o noatime,rw /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and

(i guess you still had the /and dir. if you didn't, mkdir /and.
Step 3. Open up the file /and/system/build.prop in leafpad, or another text editor.
Code:

leafpad /and/system/build.prop
Step 4. Look for the line containing ro.build.fingerprint. Replace that line so it looks like this:
Code:

ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.1-update1/ESE81/29593:user/release-keys
Step 5. Save the file, un-mount the /and partition to make sure the changes get written, and reboot.
Code:

umount /and
If your getting an error that the disk is in use, close the terminal first, then open terminal again, then type the above command.

The app market will now think we're an official android device and give us access to all apps.

Oh, p.s. I only tested this on myself, so please report back if it works (but took it from another forum that discussed the unofficial Froyo rom for the Motorola Droid, and it worked for them too, so i guess it should work.)
