Mods:

Can this thread be sticky so that the other thread can be kept clean of actual announcements and notices??

I like to keep up to date with the news on the development rather than looking at 15 pages of pleas for help.. Thanks!

Remove the SD card?

If your talking about Multiboot, however, that's a whole other matter.

Think you can either reformat your microSD card or erase the directories on it....

oh damn :mad::(

Code:

Nokia-N900:~# cd /home/user/MyDocs
Nokia-N900:/home/user/MyDocs# bzip2 -d NITDroid-N900-0.0.5-4-Final.tbz2

I will ask my questions in german

_______________

Ich habe paar Fragen:

1. Geht durch die Installation von NITDroid die Garantie des N900 weg?

2. Geht mit dieser Version auch SEHR schnell das Akku leer?

3. Kann man ganz normal alle Apps installieren?

4. Ist es in dieser Version schon zu empfehlen?

_____

I try to write these in english

1. Will the garranty lost if i install NITDroid?

2. Is the battery going empty fast?

3. Is it possible to install all Android apps?

4. Is a install in this version recommended?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic

hmm i used the tutorial (the new one), everything worked fine except Multiboot. After choosing Nitdroid it loads the blackscreen with commands for a second, then it shows me the white nokia screen, it gets a sort of reboot, goes then back to the commandscreen ( yeah the black one) and then it shows me Nokia (white Restarting Background) again, until i get back to the Multiboot -Chooser. Umm anyone knows whats up here? I havent got any error code, not even at the installation at all. thx in advance

AYY SOLVED!!! oki it worked it depended on the multiboot config. i copied the text to an .txt and send it via bT to my n900 after that i copied it to XT et voila, it rockZ! THX DJ!!!! :D

ahh but how do i enable flash?

djsteve, how do I edit the lcd file to set it to 200 in Android? I can't find your original post but I remember you saying it would help with screen alignment. The games I play such as skyforce show up in a small box. I remember it is under /system and the a file that ends in something like .png. How do I edit it and save it?

Thank you.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic

I followed the instructions from here and its working almost perfectly.

I have one tiny issue at the moment.
I want to configure a static IP for my wifi-connection, but I can't access the advanced wifi-settings.
I've read that i need to press the menu button to access these advanced settings and that the CTRL/SYM button on my keyboard should be mapped to this android menu button, but that doesn't do anything.

So how do i configure a static IP for my wifi-connection?

Tia

Did you reboot into android or Maemo, I was trying to get out of Android and go back into Maemo while wall charger was plugged in.

We sort of have sending/recieving txt support in Android via Google voice, it's not via cell data but still it works!

Thanks for then new build DJ_steve
Question about upgrading to the 3-D graphics version:

What command or step in the original instructions should I use in the future to just upgrade to future builds?

I'm coming from following these instructions: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=58890

You mention on the 2nd post for 0.0.6 to "wipe ext3 partition"

So should I follow Step 5 from the first post:

5. Once your n900 is back up lets continue:
Old NITDroid users THIS IS REQUIRED for you aswell (well formating ext3 is not the vfat one)
Code:

umount /dev/mmcblk1p1
mkfs.vfat /dev/mmcblk1p1 -n sdcard
mke2fs -j -m0 -L NITDroid /dev/mmcblk1p2

and then proceed to the quick how-to instructions on your second post here:

quick howto:
Code:

cd /home/user/MyDocs
wget http://downloads.nitdroid.com/NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.tbz2
bzip2 -d NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.tbz2
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cd /and
rm -rf *
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.tar

?
