Try to re-extract the rootfs...

Just do these steps again as root:

mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cd /and
rm -rf *
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.tar

Hope that helps :)

I did everything by copy and paste it to be precise. But when I get to the grub boot menu I select:

1.NITDroid blah

and press "1" then the boot message comes up. It is seems to boot just fine and passed the boot screen but stuck afterward with a cursor at the top corner.

This is what it looks like on my N900 right now. It has been like this for 20mins already.

I think by just reformat your mmc and then remove the multiboot.d from commandline. Then go to /etc/multiboot.d if exist and remove it.

wipe the sd card to remove nitdroid, to remove multiboot too apt-get remove multiboot-extras. Alternatively, you can use jay-c's multiboot uninstaller.

Ha i thought i had this issue only. ANybody else noticed how hot it gets as well? Even when NITD was not o/c i noticed it was really hot even if cpu usage was below 20%.

I'm using a Class 4 8GB card. But it seems really slow to me. I get a lot of pop-ups asking to force close or wait. Is this normal?

Should I look at getting a better card to put this on? Or are there any tweaks I can make. I already have overclocking set up, didn't seem to help much.

I had the same problem until I started using my Class 6 8GB card I havn't had a force closed or wait since then.

I am getting about 6.5MB/s read speeds (50MB / 512kB) and 1.6MB/s (4kB) on my card.
9.3MB/s (50MB / 512kB) and 2.5MB/s (4kB) on the internal 32GB.

I'll have to get my 4GB Class 4 back out, I think it's faster. Has anyone successfully booted off of repartitioned internal memory? Can it even be done?

Anyone care to share some card speeds versus performance?

I use a class 4 4GB card :p no issues unless the full effects are enabled.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Help/Tutorial Topic - Updated

I am having some difficulties once I get to

mount -t ext3 -o noatime,rw /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and

No error but I'm fairly sure it did not mount correctly as the next step just extract the tar to the /and folder and so it runs out of space.

I think perhaps I have done something to busybox some time ago that is messing with it. Oh well...no droid today.

If the partition is definately mounted and you have cd to /and when you extract, try
Code:

rm -rf *
to make sure it is empty.

Got home and tested my 4GB card, roughly 33% faster than the 8GB, just slightly slower than the 32GB built-in.

nitdroid is much much faster on the 4GB card, slight lags here and there, but almost no force quit / wait windows popping up anymore (at stock speeds) I'll OC to 805 (just like maemo) and it should be pretty fast. More playing with it later tonight.

Thanks for all the hard work and help.

There's a few people expiriencing this when installing NITdroid that it gets extracted on the native phone 256mb rootfs. Just cd to /and - and then rm -rf * and do the steps again ;)

You have to re extract the nitdroid .tar. Just repeat step 6 again.
