Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger?
Sometimes when I use it, it is weak. |
Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
Yeah change the rf output device to up the output and put an antenna of some kind so it will transmit further ha.
Or change the frequency to 145 mhz then for sure you will get further coverage hehehe. |

@Jay92: you have of course seen the script "FM Boost" that is available from the maemo repo? And you want more than that?

Actually I never noticed any difference using the FM transmitter with or without FM Boost. I have to say, compared to cheap FM transmitters in the market, N900's module is weak.. |
Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
Weak or not, at least we have one! I love it!
Mine is powerful enough. |
Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
You can just plug in the USB cable that will act as an antenna. Together with FMBoost you should get strong enough signal for most practical purposes.

I do admit when I was in my company car the FM Transmitter never seemed powerful enough, there was a lot of interference =( but I don't mind too much xD always had new songs I wanted to listen to ready to play on a CD :D

Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
The problem I find with it is not the power, but finding a clear frequency.
I wish there were global station free zones... but as yet I cant find a single one which works for my whole drive to work. |
Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
Do they have any HD FM transmitters? :D

Re: Is there anyway we can make the fm-transmitter stronger
Open a terminal. Write:
cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level This will give you actual value of power_level for the FM Transmitter Login as root. Then write: echo XXX > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level XXX most be a number higher than the number returned before. The recomended value is 118. In my case I echo 120. GOD bless you ALL! :D |
