i had problem installing this package. I use xarchive and it show not using right comment so i use that info from x archive.
tar -xzvf /home/user/MyDocs/modest-3.4.2-baxyp-1.tar.gz C /
and its starting seem like extract . Am i i use right command.
It just show.

./usr/lib/camel - lite-1.2/

like that its true i have installed it.t

That's not the command listed in earlier posts... :)

It's -C / (which means = change to directory / before extracting)...

Hi,

First of all, thank you for your work.
I didn't have the time to read 10 pages, so if my question has been already posted, forgive me ;)

I have 2 requests regarding Modest :
-The ability to choose the directories where sent mails, and deleted mails are stored. In the best case, the possibility to store them on the mail server (that's why imap is so great)
-The ability to choose the directories I subscribe. I tried to edit the .subscription file on my mail server, to get only the directories I want, but It seems not to work, and it's a dirty solution (i never had to do this with my old n95)

If you could satisfy those 2 requests, it should be very great ;)

Those are both two very good suggestions, both already reported as "bugs" in bugs.maemo.org (please vote for https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2557 and https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5553). Unfortunately I doubt they will get fixed. Even though Modest is open-source, it would take quite a bit of programming by a community member to implement those changes.

if you happen to use gmail you can try "plugin" from gmail labs that gives you ability to hide folders from imap connection.

@baxyp, if its not too much to ask could you please supply a patched version that covers the fix for attachments not showing: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10206 (modest 3.4.7+0m5) ; cant get work e-mails because of this..

If you check later in the thread it mentions the code comes from the 3-4 branch.
