Is this the lastest ovi maps on N900? I'm so confuse...
 

My N900 is now on PR1.2 v10.2010.19-1
I'm trying to use the ovi maps on my N900.
So I do a search in google about the interface and now I'm so confuse that "is my ovi maps lastest version?" since I can't find how to lookup it's version.


If it's the lastest version, I would stop my search.
If not, how to get the lastest?

It is the latest version for Maemo devices.
It is not as functional as the Symbian version, so this may be the reason of your confusion.

and it's a shame (just one of the many) on Nokia to have such a so called "navigation" on a device like this! Shame on NOKIA!

Ovi Maps for Nokia N900 sux hard.
Use Sygic

At the time the only one real turn-by-turn navigation for Nokia N900

which interestingly enough, Nokia has financial interests, larges amount of revenue com from maps used by sygic, in other words i doub you gone see the n900 ovi maps ever be in sync for example with symbian version.

They're two different versions.

[Symbian] Ovi Maps 3 = 3rd version or iteration of Ovi Maps for Symbian.

[Maemo] Ovi Maps = 1st version or iteration of Ovi Maps for Maemo.

The maps themselves should be the same, the difference is in how long the product has been in development.

Though I'm willing to be that with Nokia's QT plans there will be no seperate Ovi Maps in the future.

Just QT Ovi Maps that's cross-compatible with Meego, Symbian 3, and hopefully Maemo.

But maybe my question has many meanings...
By my meaning, I've do the search for "N900 ovi maps" and found that lots of screenshots different from mine...
That's why I got confusing...

is the Ovi Maps with turn by turn voice guidance still coming to n900 as it was promised?? or are we waiting for nothing?

there was an interview that said they are working on it

but if you need it now, just buy sygic or a separate GPS, you have nfi when it will come out so it could be 2-3 years down the line for all you know.
