Am I the only one that cant purchase Zen Bound? Will someone PLEASE help?!??
 

Has anyone been able to get passed the problem of the OVI store not accepting their credit cards to purchase Zen Bound? I have been trying since it came out with no success and am starting to consider searching some torrent sites, although I would much rather be able to contribute to the Maemo, OVI, ans Secret Exit cause, and legitimately "pay" for it. I have money and I really would like to play this game! ANY help or suggestions would be helpful; many seem to have been able to purchase it ... Thanks in advance

I have contacted them, they actually told me that Zen Bound is not available for the n900 and that that is why my "credit card usage is denied"... but this can't be because many people have purchased, installed, and are playing it.

Did you mention that you are using a N900? I think they don't know what phone you are sending them questions about and they may have thought that you had a symbian phone.

contact your bank and make sure trnsfers abroad is allowed.

yes they know, they said it is not available for the n900 specifically...

And i have told the banks, Ovi just simply6 ont accept my card

Yeah i had the same problem, tried all my cards, I bought airplane ticket no prob also I have paypal on that card. The card is even called visa web, i think nokia have some problems. P.S. Paypal is an awesome service.

Seems to be hit & miss with the OVI Store, my Visa card works, some cards don't. Though the problem seems to be affecting USA mostly.

Same problem here.

German Visa card (I am german and living there). I was able to buy Angry Birds level pack a few weeks ago with the same credit card.

And now they are rejecting the same card. The card is working, I am it for some other things (in different countrys mostly over the internet).

I wrote the OVI store support about it on Friday. Let's see what they answer.

ovi store is a bit of a joke now. i just downloaded the entire deb file for zen bound and now have it stored on my phone. to freely distrobute(I paid buy the way. well worth it) but poor developers. what security is that. unless im missing some IMEI encryption. but im doubting that(anyone know).
please nokia sort this out so devs can be sure their work is not stolen.

Well, I think that is no real issue. I don't believe in copy protection. They simply not work.

If you make fair prices and make your stuff avaible those who would pay for it will pay for. Those who can't or don't want to pay for it, will not do it either way. (If there is copy protection or not)

So in the end, copy protection only anoyes paying customers and costs money to implement.

I cant purchace anything from ovi due to a lack of a credit card (would love to be able to buy these apps) and have been reduced to finding them elsewhere, i totaly agree ovi is a joke.

I think there is a reasonable chunk of population that would engage in casual/social piracy (copying to friends, family, etc) if there is zero barrier to duplication. Some form of DRM is just enough to limit these activities...

I had the same problem and got ZEN Bound with help from the german Nokia Support within one day.

I have the same problem in Romania. I contacted Nokia Care and they confirmed me that they have serious issues with Ovi Store. Can't found out when they will be solved!

well, just did a quick google search of 'zen bound n900' and a load of torrents are already up, make me a little sad (people moan there no good paid games / apps then some git gives away the first one we get, reducing the chance other developers will even start producing software)

They dont lie, they just dont know. Poor or no communication in organizations is what makes them go down or loose market share. Poor communication dont mix well with "closed" "open source" like we all have experienced :/

How can you say that they don't lie? The email I got which I put in my previous post, clearly states that "zen bound is not available for the n900, that is why your payment is not being processed"
...However we all know zen bound has been available for some time, specifically for the n900...If it was an issue of ignorance ( i.e. lack of knowledge), as you state, then the answere would/should have been drastically different, i.e. "I don't know" or "we will look into it and get back to you"... their answer on the other hand was very specific, very wrong, and therefore, ...a lie

Oh .. I don't "know" but I have worked in a few companies that behaved like what i see from Nokia, and they didn't know how, why or when to communicate what and too who. Regardless of how many customers or money they lost out of this, and who said what about it, nothing ever changed.

Its called first hand experience, and Déjà vu.

This is a bit sarcastic and even political which is a no no here, but I choose to post it anyways. I think "Open Source" is a beautiful idea or ideology similar to another sweet dream you can read about here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia. It all reminds me of my own government, a social-democratic (European) really Socialist government that also believe if we just import all the worlds poor people here, it all will become like described in the link above. We are the the power behind the votes. Remember..., and remember to vote.

Ok, I also asked Nokia what to do.

Nokia answered me that everything is fine on their end and I should try again. If it still not working I should get in contact with my credit card company to see if my card is disabled for buying online or something.


Well that is stupid, my card is working everywhere just fine.
So I called my bank to see what they can say on the issue. My bank called Visa and asked them. Visa told them, that they have blacklisted the "dealer" or payment service company for security reasons because of unusal activity and that I will not be able to pay to that dealer.

I wrote that back to Nokia, let's see what they are saying. Quite funny that Nokia is not aware of the fact that at least millions of german visa cards (from my bank) are blocked for at least a week now. Nokia should fire all those employers in charge of the ovi store. They are failing at so many levels.

Well:

Visa blacklisted the company (at least to customers of my bank) which does the payment service for the ovi store. Means millions of germans (and as you can see here lots of people all over the world) are currently been blocked from payment to ovi store.

Nokia should fire those in charge (at Nokia) because it is ridiculous that millions of customers are blocked out of ovi store without anyone there noticing it. Or if they have noticed it they are failing in comunicating that to custumors. The store itselfs says "contact your credit card issuer" the Nokia support says the same.

If I would drive a online shop I would know (from customer responses, from monitoring the quota of unaproved payments, from slipping sales and so on) and then I would act. Inform my customr support agents, inform my customers if there payment where denied. And I would put quite some pressure on the company how runs the payment service.

This is a major webshop of one of the biggst companys in the world. If millions of customers were not able to pay for over a week (because of issues on the company they are using to provide the payment system) , and still the customer supports is giving stupid answer, and still it is broken, then something is seriously going wrong in the managment of that part of Nokia.

Can you really image that credit card payment being broken for millions of users for that long of a time at a webshop like Amazon? It would never happen. And if, I am damn sure the customer service would know and give correct answer to people having problems.

I'm in the UK and have made two purchases recently (Angry Birds Level Pack1 & Zen Bound) using two different cards, a Visa Electron and and Visa debit card without any issues.

So Nokia asks you to contact credit card company and you did. Credit card company says that they have blacklisted Nokia ovi store and are investigating it?

I agree with you on that it's ridiculous that there is issues but i would be very very careful on to whom to blame here.

Millions of users? Where btw. you did that info get? Did you mix customer base of your credit card company to Nokia users who have that credit card companys card from the same bank where you did and who have nokia's phone and who use ovi store?
