Maybe we could make standard GTK+ file selector more touch friendly?
Let's use the one from Qt or MeeGo Touch.
For better integration with Hildon apps we could reimplement libhildonfm as a wrapper library for the related MeeGo APIs.

As a replacement for modest maybe Postler could be something? It don't look like the gui need any work...

If you are still looking for an alternative Audio player I suggest looking here at SomePlayer it has already a lot of features :)
