holy moly this is awesome indeed!

whats the timeline for an N900 RC? i imagine were still a month or more out?

how does this integrate with the nightly meego builds? will we see 1.2 RC1 in april before we have somehting stable to base a N900 build on?

Amazing project! I really love hildon and especially the fact to finally giving it a totally open sourced underlying operating system.

I have an n900 and bought a streak recently. I have seen your efforts of porting meego to it. Do you think it is possible to get 3D acceleration to work some day? This really would be the perfect device for Codia :)

Hope this project gains more and more interest!

It really boils down to drivers. If Qualcomm decides to provide working 3D drivers for Linux, this could work. If not - forget it.

Qualcomm? There is a new powervr driver included in the meego n900 hardware adaption that should solve most 2D problems. There should be no problem with gles 3d drivers also.

Yes, Qualcomm. Dell Streak uses Qualcomm Snapdragon platform.

Weren't the original ones OSS? If so, will you commit them to the CSSU?

You could also have used Advanced Clock Plugin and Advanced Power Control.

Nicola has already implemented the missing pieces for Control Panel and now is working on a Camera UI replacement. MohammadAG is working on a MEdia Player replacement too.

That really depends on the "N950" success.
N810 CSSU flopped because N900 came out and sucked all devs. ;-)

Well hopefully the N950 wont be coming out till Q3/Q4 2011 so we can get some very nice updates for the N900.

Also if its running Harmattan it should be fully open sourced so all these other projects besides the CSSU will be compatible with the N950.

As long as the drivers are open sourced :)

Besides Nokia really blew it with the N900, alot of people have lost faith completely so I don't think many people are gonna jump ship and go straight to the N950 :P

Yes, there was a problem getting devs at the end of N8x0 SSU. But the comments at the time, probably mine, indicated an increasing preference for a longer term solution, such as getting Hildon on top of MeeGo, which also may not happen because of lack of devs.

About the logo: I think it's a nice and unique one. ;)

Is 3D accerlation working on N900?! If not NITDroid got it also, so maybe the NITDroid code can help to realise this feature?

The current MeeGo builds already have the graphics drivers and fully utilise them. Infact they are better then the ones with Maemo as they dont have any problems with tearing the screen :P

I wanted to build a Cordia ARM image for Archos tablets during the weekend, but MeeGo does not provide developer tools for openSUSE 11.4 yet.
(And I'm to busy to downgrade my workstation or fiddle with chroots etc. just for the sake of it.)

Pretty, but lots of detail for a logo (and I'm guessing icon). Wonder how it looks when pixel and color depths change. Cause it looks good here, but things happen to details like the shadowing in those buds, when it gets much smaller.

These project is not dead. There is not much activity lately, because I am buried in paid jobs and don't have much time to work on other stuff.

What you see is GNOME Power Manager working as a Hildon Status Menu plug-in. :-)

I decided to not reinvent the wheel and just modify GPM to use Hildon Desktop Status Area instead of FreeDesktop Notification Area. So, we will have full-blown GNOME power management in Cordia.
