I honestly can't imagine how mycontacts will make the general profile not work. You can find out more about how it is implemented here

On the next version there will be a setting to allow you to completely disable "ring tone management" by mycontacts w/o having to uninstall it. But, even now, if you don't assign ringtones to groups mycontacts should not affect how your phone play or not play ring tones.

In fact, the only scenario I can think of that would affect your phone playing ring tones after mycontacts is you manually deleting the folder "/home/user/.mycontacts". It won't be a problem if you just uninstall the package, and it will stop being a problem after you assign a new ring tone to the profile.

Ring tones seems to be the "theme" for today so I decided to write instructions on how to use the "settings" application to convert any "sound" file format that the phone support as ring tone into the "wav" files that mycontacts can use.

Changes on this release:

• New setting that allows you to completely disable mycontacts from handling calls/ring tones.
• Call Blocker - you can use mycontacts to automatically block calls from a group of contacts
• Fixed widget auto-rotation (it only worked if some other application had enabled the accelerometer before)

I would like to have option that I can remove those profile categories. 5x3 contacts are enough for me.

Also that would be great that widget should open automaticly when I restart phone :)

but great app...

oh and I cannot get work this window orientation, even if I set landscape, view will change when I turn my phone.

On the application or widget? The options in the settings control the application. The widget should always rotate but you have to have the latest version from extras-devel (the versions on extras and extras-testing don't include this feature yet)

Hi,

I want to ask something about the ringing. I introduced a different tone in groups and profiles as a ring tone is "Crochik-general". But in a call (I tried different numbers) my phone only vibrates. Where can be the problem?

The only think I can think of is that the phone does not support the wav format of your file or that the file is corrupted. Please try a different wav file or use the method on the top of this page to convert a sound file into the "official" ring tone format.

Unfortunately it is not the most trivial task.

There are several ways to accomplish this, none of them much easier than the next. The easiest two are:

1) delete the file /home/user/.config/Crochik/MyContacts.config file - all your groups and settings will be deleted - probably not the best idea.

2) edit the same file and delete any line that says IconPath=(ANYTHING DIFFERENT THAN BLANK) - be carefull to not change anything else.

Before you attempt any of these make sure to shutdown the application.

i did this with an icon i downloaded, when i deleted the icon from my memory card it also reset the original,
gonna try this great app again now, ive missed it lately!
