just got my phone back
 

just had my phone returned from repair and i am not happy . the stylus is missing and worse of all when i transfered my address book back thats when the trouble started. when someone out of my adrress book rings me all i get is there number and not there name.
doing my head in ,......

Any ideas?

Try flashing the fiasco image + eMMC, and try again.
Also, I'd call Nokia and ask them replace your missing stylus.

I'm with toja, sounds like you'll need to flash your phone. if it went into your service provider for repair they probably reset it under their software licence. if your unfortunate enough to be with vodafone uk you wont get updates until you flash.

re the stylus, again if your in the uk with vodafone, o2, carphone warehouse, etc you could go into a high street store and they'll replace the stylus, couple of quid is what they charged me when I lost mine.

you have to ask them for a demo. n900 is not displayed for some reason. when i went to carphone warehouse they had to bring a demo version from the back.
meanwhile the nokia store had the staff carry them in their pockets.

yup, you do have the latest software platform. not sure if I can offer up any more advice. try posting your problem in the tech forum, pretty sure someone there should be able to help.

ok now i have deleted my contacts from my phone and sim card and exported the address from outlook. what next? it seems to fail when trying to import the csv file.....any ideas?

Check the CVS file by hand, might have an error in it.

i love how you spelled another!!! that is funny as hell and i am not being smart as i probably have the worst typing on here. good luck with getting yoru info back. i gotta send mines in for repair this week and i will be sure to remember to remove the stylus thanks to you.

they are not so expensive. you may have to order from hong kong but its cheap as hell and you can get liek 3 of those stylus's if not more in a pack

ok devolpment
i now get the name of the contact coming up if he is using a mobile.
Iget no name of contact just a number when it is a landline.Thoughts any one?

on all my nokia phones i get the problem of no name with a number when i somehow get duplicates of the same number in my contacts or maybe sim contacts i cant remember

no but I removed common numbers ie home fone number from both sons vcard, now is working so thanks guys
