Yeah, seems like the png optimizing turned some completely white images into black :D Will fix it tomorrow.

That's really strange, it shouldn't do that... I guess maybe one of the programs has a bug.

Hi! Who knows where are located the icons and the executable files from Settings, Personalization Applet.

I Have this issue and don't know how to solve it: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=193

I asked also here because the plastc setup is in the same place.

The virtual keyboard has a minor issue, at least in Pleego's latest version. When you press the virtual keys, they don't get highlighted. Hope this will be rectified in the next update.

Can some one else confirm this? On my device (once again) they get highlighted (lighter color) as they are supposed to.

To get rid of that icon you need to remove the corresponding .desktop -file (don't know what's it called on that program) under:
/usr/share/applications/hildon-control-panel/

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction

@D-livil
Yesterday I installed
black plastic theme - 2.206
plastic addon pack 2 1.1.3
I have a strange problem with custom transitions. There is a little freeze for a 0,2-0,3 sec and then N900 displayed the new window or whatever. Now I am using default transitions and do not face any delay.
I am using Pleego , Nokia Sans, default transitions.
Does someone has same problem?

Regards.

Reboot will solve those freezing issues. I've had same kind of lagging after about 1/20 reboots and another reboot will fix the lagginess.

Update for addon-pack-2 is on it's way. It fixes the text -input problem on several applications and has some new meego-styled icons here and there.

And as a bonus: here's a nice wallpaper I drew to use with Pleego scheme (if you don't like those little guys like I don't):
http://www.firenote.com/D-Iivil/plas...meegostone.png

Just save that single PNG -image to your MyDocs/.images -folder and then you can choose to use it as wallpaper set via: desktop editing mode -> change background

Download it, change the file extension to .ttf and you're good to go. This forum software won't accept .ttf -files as attachments so he changed the extension to .zip in order to upload it here.

When you face that lagginess (ie. windows are opening veeeery slowly) just turn off the phone and turn it on again.

Don't really know what's causing it, happens with every theme randomly after you have rebooted the phone.

What do you guys think about option to select which wallpaper you want to use?
I mean what wallpaper from installed schemes. That way you could select to use for example Pleego as color scheme and then choose to use wallpapers from DeepOrange etc?

And ofcourse there would be an option NOT to change the background at all if you wish to keep your current self-set background to be active after setting the color scheme.

I'm not yet sure how will I do the last part, but the first one would be easily doable.

Yeah that sounds great , keep up the great work this is the best theme for the n900 so far IMO anyways, Thanks D-livil

It will e nice! But...

I think you could create more wallpapers like liquid-metal or meegostone and let the user chose from that ones. Or maybe create two or three wallpaper who is matching with each scheme and let the user choose from that ones.
The idea is that you can not choose the wallpaper from DarkRed to Pleego. It's not from the picture!

Do you got my point?

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction

Sorry for posting in the old thread. Yeah, you are right that other themes change the background after activation but I thought with your nice settings menu there could be an option to not change it (optional).

And because you asked a few pages earlier: The IM conversation icon is still the black envelope (same icon as the SMS icon) with a red "IM" in the bottom left corner. It would be nice if it would be a completely different icon like a speech bubble or something like that.
I think you have used it some time ago already and then switched to this icon (for whatever reason).

jorjino 2010-07-30 08:21

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction

That is interesting idea.
For me I prefer to have only theme, without background. I can easily change it via phone menu.
I think without backgrounds the themes will have smaller size and will be lighter for the CPU - this is only my way of thinking.

Hmmm, make a Package with all "Black-Plastic" Wallpaper and install to ~/.images. Thatīs it. I dont need a second Option to set Desktopbackgrounds.

Really sorry for my English :(

This might be difficult to do because I think after reboot the background will change anyway if it's included in theme-directory :-(

Yeah, seems like I forgot to include one icon. Uploading an updated package atm.

This sounds like too difficult for me to do (sorry, I'm not expert on coding with QT) :-/

I think there has to be some image as background. Package size would definitely shrink down, but then again... wallpaper is a big part of theme and makes the phone look as I think it should look.

If I leave wallpapers out then I'm gonna get tons of complains like "why aren't desktop widgets visible / text well readable on my XYW -background". You know ;) So I must include at least some walls with the theme which I think are working nice with widgets I've drawn.

I don't think so because after I have applied a new theme I can change the background and after a reboot (to fully load all theme files) the background is still the same as before the reboot.

Yes, but if the situation is like this:
- you set the scheme and have option not to overwrite your current backgrounds
- you reboot and during the reboot OS reads that you're using this theme and it has these backgrounds so I'll load them up UNLESS user has manually set some other background set to use (other than theme's backgrounds).

After that you can ofcourse change the backgrounds to what ever you want, but that's how you already do it :-D

This could be doable if I knew how changing background-sets is handled by the OS. I only know that changing active theme is done by simple command line command:
/usr/bin/personalisation /path/to/the/theme/to/activate

I'm using the DarkBlue scheme, so the problem with text input (the input box in Qt apps being black), is also in the main package (and probably also in addon pack 1)... ;)

I would very much like this option: the first thing I have to do after upgrading is change my backgrounds and lockscreen back.
