Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction

just playing with transitions and i found this on in symbianfreak.com (thanks to leetut!).
in my observation of using this custom transition, its also fast, but not as fast as what d-iivil usr for his theme so i would not recomend it to be used as the custom transitions for plastic theme :D but you can try. just extract the attached file to /usr/share/hildon-desktop (rootsh installed and on root mode) remeber to back-up or copy the default .ini file somewhere in your storage. if you are using plastic theme, go to settings, plastic theme setup, select "use DEFAULT transitions", then "keep my Current theme" leave auto reboot unchecked (no need for reboot). then save changes. (disclaimer: im not responible for damages, please do this at your own risk) |

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
Any chance of some lighter colours? i.e off white, light grey. Maybe an off white wallpaper with slightly darker icon backgrounds.
Not sure if it's anything to do with the theme, but I've had a couple of hangs when using the desktop configuration (moving icons, adding widgets and shortcuts). Tapping "Done" won't switch back to the desktop. The desktop hangs and then all the widgets disappear. |

Edit: did you install any other apps at the same time with Plastic Theme? Or upgraded an existing one? Try to uninstall devel apps one by one and see if it brings back the rest of the top bar. You could also try to type this into terminal: sudo gainroot killall hildon-status-menu |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
D-Iivil. Yes if i tap to X button it close.
If i install other theme, everything is OK, but after reboot all the same. I dont now may be flash or ? I upgrade plastic several times |

First of all, excellent work. Really cool stuff is going on here. Now, secondly, my issue: Tweakr's snapping-feature doesn't work, contrary to your hint, no matter if I use default or custom transitions. Even having uninstalled tweakr, the icons/widgets don't snap. Tried several possible combinations: enabeling default or custom transitions while switching between default and custom themes, no snapping... Are the transitions or the snapping sub-theme specific? I'm using the Pleego variation, all options enabled and/or set to Black Plastic specific defaults... Any way to get snapping back? |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
love this theme package, great work:D
i have a request though how about an option to remove the square shadows from the icons , its very tedious typing the same code in xterminal everytime i try a new colour or do an update and i just cant live with those square shadows on any theme i use:P keep up the amazing work m8 |

There IS a snap to grid set ON @ my transitions. It's set to 4px. If you want to have my transitions and bigger snap-to-grid you may do the following: edit this file with your favourite editor (I prefer leafpad so example code below uses it), rootsh must be installed, type this into xterm: sudo gainroot leafpad /usr/share/themes/blackplastictheme-themedir/transitions.tmp Scroll down to the end of the file and you'll see the snap to grid value. Change the value to bigger one to get larger snap (try 8 or 16). Save the file by tapping to bar, then save. Close terminal, run Plastic Theme Setup, choose to use custom transitions and reboot. Hit save and wait for the phone to reboot. |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
Nah, 4px snapping is fine with me. Had it on small anyway. But for the hell of it, tweakr is gone, custom animations activated, applied, theme setup run, reboot: no snapping. Icons/widgets move on a 1 or at most 2px basis. Sheeezle :@ Any ideas?
With my last try I went as far as applying Nokia Nseries, rebooted. Without changing the theme I used the config app, let it set all to custom and Pleego and then reboot: Custom transitions are ok but no snap...! Hmpf...! |

Excellent programme. Thanks for all your hard work. I sent you a cold beer.

@d-iivil
yo! this may be too much but is there a possibility that the "D-theme Night" be added on the plastic theme? Thanks...... :) |

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
Believe me guys, it's there. 4px is just so small amount (it's the same as default @ PR1.2. If you want more noticeable snapping, then edit the transitions.tmp -file. I already posted detailed instruction for doing that :)

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
hello. at first, LOVE this theme for its customability (not sure is that a word) i have a problem and a request.
the problem is that i changed the font in plastic theme setup and it changed the font of sites opened with microb, but it only changed it once, tried to change to another font, but still the same font is in microb. i uninstalled and reinstalled all plastic theme packs + addons but the font is still the same (alien league.ttf) then to the request. is it possible to include font size changer to the setup, like +1 / -1. all the fonts i have tried are too big or too small. (or the fonts that fit didnt have the scandinavian дце) thanks for a great theme and thanks for help/advice in advance. will buy you a beer, and another if you ever wonder in my pub :) |

About the size changer; I think it's too complicated to do with shell script, but will look into it definitely after I've solved the issue how to fit more stuff into Plastic Setup window :P |

Would all Pleego fan-boys and -girls please go to http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...on-pack-2/1.2/ and vote for their favorite N900 theme!
Thanks D-Iivil for this piece of eye-candy! I think it deserves a theme/package of its own! |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
Got solved how to make the window scrollable, so next version will have these new settings:
- show or hide icon backgrounds @ homescreen - change the snap-to-grid amount @ homescreen to suit your needs Hopefully will release it tomorrow :) |

Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
I will join in as newbie. I have just installed black plastic and when I go through settings I do not have any font options at all. I have choice of colour then transitions.
Can anyone advise? I might be posting in wrong place though. |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
@brois
once you have opened your Plastic theme setup, you should see the Font title with a blank field next to it? Ok, if you click on that field (for me, more towards the right hand side) a new window should open with font options. |
Re: [Release] Plastic Theme + Addon Packs - change of direction
