God the Nokia n95 and Nokia n96 were great no erratic touchscreen with all of the functionality you could ever want. On a side not I do prefer physical buttons and Navigation keys but I can use a touchscreen just fine.

Lol yeah but I just hate how stupid some Iphone fanboys are like. They Know nothing with regard to the Phone capability and the restriction, nor open minded about other devices that are better than the iphone. It is like they've been brain washed and abducted by some aliens from an Apple Iphone planet.

I felt sorry for them. Only the clever one stay true and admit. My colleagues are truely Apple people (AKA we are the computer technician and apple based department lol) but yet they are not standing behind the iPhone lol. Yet he said yes iPhone have a lot of restriction and he has to apply for a certification just to write software on it. And my other colleague planning to get Iphone4 and then dual boot with Android :D. they all did played with my phone and I got a comment "Man, what can this phone not do?, this phone is so much opened and very computer like "

I'm tired of the press constantly praising Apple for nothing. Trying to say video calling is better on an iPhone 4 when really it looks just like fring or Qik. When press gets excited over the most ground braking feature drum roll please wallpapers seriously it took four generations of the iPhone os to get wallpaper? That in my opinion is just pathetic. Apple fanboys in press nothing new. I wish Nokia will get the same break Apple gets when it drops the ball. Many in this site are always quick to extol Apple as an example Nokia should follow as if ITunes lousy update is match for Nokia OTA update. Perhaps Nokia should adopt a fruit logo. Mango?

You must realize Nokia had an unsoiled reputation until the Nokia n97 which got much hate for buggy software, laggy ui, lack of ram and cpu, and defective hardware. There are now many who bash Nokia but then there are the Nokia fanboys who say it just little glitch or it will be fixed in an update. I think the iPhone 4 will receive some large amount of hate because people just bought a shiny new iPhone 4 and now it drops my calls if hold left-handed, glitches with iOs 4, defective displays showing yellow, and exaggerated build quality. I'm sure there will be 1,000 people who hate on Apple and say they have forever lost my trust and there will also be 1,000 more Apple fanboys who try to defend the iPhone 4 it is nothing new. Every company has ther share of annoying fanboys Nokia. Nokia fanboys can be awefull to you know.

apple fan boys are just that. They bought the marketing hype, and love the image, and the phone makes them FEEL smart and sophisticated. (emphasis on the word feel) I guess its a symptom of the broader problem with have in today's image based culture, where substance matters nothing if you can have a convincing image.

They can nervously spout statics and specifications, of which they don't know how they apply and are great at shouting people down, but in whole the group is a huge mess of ignoramus. If everyone was at least partially adept at computer usage, no one would buy ANYTHING Apple made.

they are trying to make a unified platform for every device they use if you looked at it this way you will find out they make sense more than nokia meego because when Nokia said unified platform they said buy more device we can't offer a new operating system to your old devices. apple i don't even like eating it but they are clever guys they know what to do and when to do. they are calculating and putting every thing in their mind when they want to do some thing. that's why every body likes to have apple operating system (no matter what) in their devices.

Sorry dude but the last line of this message is a fail moment. Not everybody wants this OS in their devices, even Apple fanboys(except maybe the die hard ignorant ones).

Yes a unified platform is appealing to people but I would say far more individuals want to be unique and have something different. Unified = standard ergo not unique. Ok there are a lot of apps out there which means you could appear to be unique but its an illusion. The only unique factor I have seen with the iPhone 4 for example is you can change the background which I have been able to do with phones for almost 10 years now.

Apple has distorted the truth on the technical achievements they have made with the iPhone OS(and a lot of other products). Probably 90% of the technology in the device is either old or imitates other software on the market that in most cases does the job better.

If you got 10 iPhones together none of them would stand out from the other, they do the same thing, they look the same(okay, except maybe the background).

Get 10 N900s/Droids together and each one would be different and personalised for the users tastes.

Now remove the device names from the above scenarios and answer - which one of the above devices would you prefer? I know I would rather have a device I can personalise and define rather than have the device define me.

but you said my last line was a failure i doubt it, you are right about personalizing the device who doesn't but if unified os is a failure then why nokia tries to make meego isn't meego a unified os. the whole thing is if you have to decide having a stable good system and with great performance you won't find any thing better than iphone os (i hate this device even i hate apple for creating that device).

I don't understand, how is iOS unified? it's only on Apple products and only on portable handsets. MeeGo is on TV's, Handsets (phone/tablet), TV's and freaking coupon machines.

It was a failure, not everyone want that OS on their device. Meego/Android can create unification with individuality, it will be hard but its still possible.

Well yes, iOS is only used on a tablet, iTouches and iPhones, those are all portable handsets with very similar functions. So why is it unified?

In my opinion, Apple should license Maemo from Nokia and use that on their stuff - it would just make them usabe.
  • As it stands, I consider iOS to be the least useful mobile operating system.
  • Android is not bad, but Google (the most evil company on the world) owns it - this means that it is a "no-go" for me.
  • Symbian is not bad, either, but Maemo does much-much better.

I'm not a "fanboy" of anything.
I just check the available options at a time, and pick the one which suits my needs better.

  • Symbian is dead to me and yes Maemo is better. I can't wait to see what Meego brings.
The most advanced mobile os is WebOs in my opinion.
