The instintiv shuffle works today. I'm almost sure I've test it yesterday and it didn't work.

Cool

hey Peter, it's been a few days, any update? Leaving for holidays soon, would love to have a usable version to take with me :D

One thing: 'consistent' Cover caching doesn't work, it reloads all cover art after restart which always takes a bit of time. May be get the player to store image files in the corresponding music folders to allow quicker caching times?

Eagerly awaiting your next release :)

Hmm... sounds like another bug re cover art -- it's on the investigate list. Playlists are done, but we're still making some massive changes to our back end storage model.

It's a data thing... so the quality may still be not great (read horrible). We're working on a server-side update that will allow to improve much faster in low data environments.

If none is found will it look for a "folder" or "cover" file in the directory before going out to search for it?
Is there a default image if none of the above are found?
Can the art be changed by the user later?

Nice start BTW. :)

think it must be black magic, really, the things its pulling art up for are amazing, the metadata on my mp3's are dodgy at best (um, no idea why! :/ ) and even things which have never been on an album are returning art! one suprising example - downloaded an instrumental score from battlefield bad company (dont asj why!) and was amazed when it provided a screenshot from the game as album art.

Haha. Nice. Automatically fixing metadata is next on the list. We have the ability to do it now, it's just a question of UI though. Every system has a failure rate and getting the wrong artwork from time to time is only mildly irritating. Getting your songs renamed to something unrecognizable is actually really really bad. So any ideas on how to do this *smoothly* would are very welcome.

really? more black magic! :D once u've got that up and running perhaps u could implement a winning lotto number generator, or just standard genie 3 wishes protocol?

cant believe your not even accepting donations either, is there a hidden eula where we sold you our souls by using this program? :O :P

oh and as for ui suggestions - perhaps approve metadata changes before they take effect? with sorting by most important field first (eg change of song title or artist top, genre bottom of list) or most drastic changes first (eg from the police to sting top, and from guns n roses to guns 'n' roses bottom) and an option to just implement all automatically?

failing that i suggest more wizardry and hocus pocus please! :D

The way we look at it is that getting feedback and an opportunity to improve the app is far more valuable than any money we'd make in the interim :)

PS: We'll probably have to have one eventually but I generally don't like EULAS. There's no way on the planet the average user can be expected to read *and* understand what an army of lawyers wrote so it's pretty friggen unfair. And in answer to your query, yes we now own your soul ;)

That's not a bad idea but here's the problem. If you have even a thousand songs, going through all the corrections (or even going through them as the individual songs play) is either a pain or it largely negates the value of fixing the metadata -- namely the ability to quickly find what you're looking for with fuzzy search -- which we're about to roll out as well...
