Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
latest update does not install because of conflict with
xserver-xorg-input-evdev-mouse I uninstalled bt-hid-scripts to try a new install and also purged config files xserver-xorg-input-evdev-mouse from terminal Still it does not install with the same message. |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
I have got the same problem. No update because it's presents a conflict with xserver-xorg-input-evdev-mouse.
mmmh.... Any news? |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts

Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Update: I removed QtPy4 Full Install (PR1.2) - not sure why that was installed! Also managed to install extmouand Patched x.org Mouse Driver, trying to find the right combination of packages/dependenciesthat will allow BT-HID-Scripts to be installed.
Alas, I still get the last four lines quoted above as the log output error when attempting the install. Is there something wrong with the package? |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Sorry folks,
I'm in a bit of a tricky situation here. freemangordon uploaded a better version of the mouse driver, with no kinetic scrolling problems, and he told me to use that one instead. So I gladly switched my dependency in bt-hid-scripts to his fixed mouse driver (instead of azerty1's buggy binary driver). The problem is that freemangordon's mouse driver explicitly conflicts with bt-hid-scripts! He must have done this when azerty1's driver was part of my package. So my choices are: (1) wait until freemangordon fixes his mouse driver package so that it doesn't conflict anymore, (2) switch back to depending on azerty1's broken driver, (3) change my package name to dodge the "conflicts" line in freemangordon's package, or (4) abandon the project and tell everyone to start using freemangordon's packages (external mouse support and external keyboard support). Currently, I am trying (1), waiting hoping that freemangordon will fix the problem. I will wait a bit more, and then I will do both (2) and (3), that is, I will make bt-hid-scripts depend on the broken mouse driver again, and I will upload a new package, bt-hid-scripts2, that will depend on freemangordon's driver. I think, eventually, everyone will just naturally switch over to freemangordon's packages and leave these scripts to wither away. That's fine; they were only here to fill a gap. |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Ok, I've uploaded a new version that goes back to depending on the old driver package, in case you depend on these scripts.
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
So you've renamed the erroroneous package with a "2"? Just installed the originally named one successfully. Will try my Nokia SU-8W now...
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Ahh, got it working. Didn't realise I had to wait until "Fn" was lit before I could enter the random code and pair. Works well, thanks Qole!
Only thing is of course the kinetic scrolling issue. No biggy! |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
From my SU8W. I'm missing some keys, but otherwise this is great! Even works with Dr NokSN£S!
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
I am testing the new version that uses the fixed mouse driver, and it keeps the kinetic scrolling with the full functionality of the scripts...
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
my BT mouse auto connects + cursor auto appears using v2 of this app (qoles) with extkb and extmouse
perfect! now if i only had a keyboard.............. |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Good work Qole. :)
My keyboard appeared to time out one, and wouldn't reconnect until I deleted and recreated the pairing. Then after that it reconnects just by turning on BT via bluezwitch widget and the keyboard's on button. |

Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
f2thak and others using extmouse and extkbd: why are you bothering with these scripts at all once you have extmouse and extkbd installed? Aren't those packages sufficient without my scripts?
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Yeah, I was 100 percent sure that there will be guys to install both thigs, and after that complain "ooo, the cursor does not hide/show, application sucks...", that is why i make extmou incompatible with bt-hid-scripts. Making evdev driver incompatible was just an assurance , as I have never installed bt-hid-scripts and was too lazy to check all its versions dependencies. Will try today to upload new evdev driver with correct "Conflicts" section so both bt-hid-script and extmou can use it . But not one the same device ;)
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
I understand they're incompatible. The problem I had earlier was because of package dependencies (or that's my understanding).
I have just started trying to pair my BT mouse; guess I'll move into the extmou thread. |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
The update in Extras-devel now depends on the "good" mouse driver. The scripts work well for me (my mouse and keyboard connect and work completely) with no more scrolling bug, but if you have any problems I would recommend moving over to extmou and extkbd, because they have a GUI config (and a watcher that autostarts properly, I presume).
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Heeeeey, scrolling bug fixed!!! It works perfect in MicroB now. Yihaa, been kinda sad about that for a while. Now everything rox.
Thanks qole, you're great! BTW, has it already been mentioned in this thread or somewhere how to move over to extmou and extkdb from your scripts. I mean, wasn't it something that the device went into reboot loop or so if I uninstall your scripts? I'd rather not reflash my device now again...don't have so much time nowadays. |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
i cant not install bluetooth script it say im locking a package ''Libxmuu1'' anyone got this problem
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
my bt mouse connect and cursor appear but i cant move the cursor. what i have missed plz help. thanks
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Larswad: My scripts would never cause a reboot loop; but the old mouse driver made the N900 reboot when installed. Now that I don't use that driver anymore, there should be no problems installing or uninstalling my scripts.
augustthe: The libxmuu1 package is connected to the mouse driver. You might have too many repositories enabled, and one of them has a bad copy of that package that is not compatible. Try disabling all non-maemo repos. obhishap: Are you running the watcher? Do you see a yellow banner appear when you connect the mouse? |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
dont know about watcher. i did not install any script as my n900 get connection to the bt mouse normally. the bluetooth icon also stays blue but there is no pointer. then i install mouse support from app manager and i can see the pointer also yellow banner says "connected to bluetooth mouse" and if i turn off mouse, yellow bannaer says "disconnected" and also the pointer hides automatically. the only problem is i cannot move the pointer. help plz. thanks

Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
obhishap: please ask your questions in the Mouse Support thread.

Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
BT HID Connect falls when i chose my BT-mouse...
My mouse is Genius Traveller 915BT |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
DitZ: Some people have reported success when renaming their mouse in the BT Device screen to include the word "Mouse" somewhere.
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
qole: If I try to find bluetooth devices (in bluetooth menu), 900 identifies my mouse like "Genius Traveler 915BT Laser Mouse"... Then n900 requests the security code, but my mouse has no security code... (
BT HID Connect identifies my mouse like in standard bluetooth menu. When I choose this device, it falls... |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
When pairing my mouse, if you change the four digit code to "0000" it pairs and works fine.
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
5spdvl: I already tryed code "0000", connection interrupts with error message...
May be try another mouse...? |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Unable to update bt-hid-scripts
conflict with application packages: Patched x.org mouse driver I`m trying to update to 0.13-3 version Thanks |
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
You need to uninstall that patched x.org mouse driver; it is the one with the kinetic scrolling bug. Maybe uninstall that and the bt scripts. Your device will reboot. Then install the new bt scripts, and all will be good.
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
Wow, with the new version I don`t have the kinetic scrolling bug any more! Thanks!
|
Re: N900 Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse scripts
This is great! I've tested this with all the following bluetooth devices connected simultaneously (also have extkbd installed):
