"your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

dont you guys think that apple is taking a step backwards and nokia is learning from apples mistake?
i mean a step backwards is thicker hardware, less network reception

so what do you guys think?

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

coz i saw it in active topics and giggled and i thought it to be somewhere to announce the fact that apple is a bunch of douches :)

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

It's dumb as hell that actually came out of somebody's mouth from Apple, let alone the CEO. But with that said, this has been talked about to death in other iPhone 4 threads.

It's an issue that they need to fix, now... where the hell is the competition and taking advantage of this gaffe right now is the more important question. Otherwise, it's just a whole bunch of finger-pointing which has proven to be very pointless and fruitless so far.

Let's see Nokia, MeeGo, somebody take advantage of this and actually do something. And not make folks wait for announcements like we currently are.

I take it you mean the ipad?

Who in their right mind is gonna buy one of those when they could get one of those mini netbook things for half the price?
In fact, don't our great n900's do more than an ipad?

blwthompson 2010-07-13 15:21

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

not iPad iPhone 4.0 the new iPhone

sepehrsfmech 2010-07-13 15:22

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

hassan_badredin 2010-07-13 15:25

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

they were in a hurry to release the new iPhone and messsed up
its no step forward, i'll give you that
i think apple really screwed up with this 'holding wrong' business but they needed to say something, anything, you know...
whatever they would've said, it would anyway be stupid, BECAUSE
seriously, the iphone 4 has a serious design flaw and theres nothing anyone can do about it
and still they sold millions...
incredible but true, marketing sells, not quality
way to go Jobs :D

kyllerbuzcut 2010-07-13 15:25

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

oh, right an iphone4 lol.

What did apple say then?
My sister in law got one and the first thing she said to my wife was'The signal is ok, honestly, call quality has been fine for me'. We hadn't even heard there was any complaints going round until aftger that.
THEN when she has called my sister since, all I can hear in the background is 'what, what, what did you say, I can't hear you properly, say that again'

I doubt that there's anything about building wireless antennas that Nokia needs to learn from Apple, or anybody else for that matter. Core competency as far as Nokia is concerned.

I've never heard about any 'sales go down'. I know they're out of stock everywhere though.

Not yet but Apple wont admit they have problems :) Remember Micro USB issue on N900 ? At first Nokia was hesitant to accept there is a problem but they realized that denying makes it even worse:D

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

Really? The biggest flaw in the E71 was the GSM antenna - at the bottom of the phone... you have to hold it loosely at the sides in a low signal area or when doing netty stuff.

Absolutely fab phone slightly let down by a basic error - not so different to Apples. That Apple refused to learn from Nokias mistake is unforgivable - or maybe they are so up themselves they (Jobs) thought they could get away with it and sell a new model next year with "incredible new reception ability"

Hmm, not sure what that article has got to do with my question :)

Btw, what's wrong with this thread? The OP just craps and trolls while displaying utter ignorance of logic and linguistic structures... can we turn this into a useful discussion?

This has a shot at really being the worst thread ever. I know it's been claimed before, but ...

ysss 2010-07-13 16:51

Re: "your holding it wrong"- apple is taking a step backwards

I think the current shortage of iPhone 4 in the market is probably intentional; because they take into account the possibility of a recall.

But I also think that if they conduct a recall without a ready replacement, it will be one of the 'least successful' recall in the history: that many people will opt to just 'live with it', put on the bumper or to sell it off at a profit to someone else.
