Thanks for writing back. But really, I would love to have seen the news to say that OVI Maps free navigation or something was getting released on the N900 instead of this comic. I do understand that things were released in jest, but to hype up a comic is really no joke to N900 users who are already feeling quite lonely and left out as it is with support. I would really really appreciate if you can send this back up the chain of command and tell them that N900 users have paid some good money for their phones - as much as any upcoming N8 or the classic N97 (which I also owned previously). We would love to see some support or commitment from them rather than seeing a flimsy comic of sorts. The sad truth of the matter is, the N900 is nearly dead according to Nokia (less than a year after its original release) - and the only thing keeping it alive are ALL the dedicated developers in this forum who have done so well at maximising the use of its capabilities. It would be rather nice if OVI can spring through a surprise of "OVI Maps" or any of the Nokia Value-add applications that have been so successful on the Symbian cousins. |

Hi Niini, thanks for the genuine reply, much appreciated!

I'm obviously not suggesting you are the person responsible for all of Ovis ills, but if you can feedback to the right people that N900 users pretty much detest Ovi (and in many cases, refuse to use Ovi Store as it's so bad and rips them off thanks to the defective/unfair payment system) then maybe something will have been achieved. If not, Ovi is just going to go from bad to worse and no amount of light hearted blog posts will change that. I genuinely wish you all the best for the future, but your job will be made a lot easier if the Ovi Service can be improved to the point of actually being pleasant to use! :) |
Re: Angry man...... This time, he's really angry...
Hi, guys!
Another long group response coming through, bear with me… :) @danramos: Thank you so much for your kind words, that seriously made my day :) Our aim here at Ovi is to listen, not shout (because how else would anyone learn anything? =)) and give respect to get respect. We also try to keep it very closely in mind that it’s you guys that we’re doing everything for. It sounds cheesy but it’s really what our daily work revolves around. Truth! So thank you again for your comment! And also, if I give you my boss’ number, can you tell that bit about promoting me to him as well? :D LOL just kidding! @cjp: True, I understand your point & I also understand your frustration. The only thing I can tell you as of right now, though, is that the teams are working very hard to bring new features to the Meamo and Meego platforms & enhancing the functionality of Ovi Maps, so at the moment we’re asking everyone to be patient & wait for the updates. When there are news/updates, we will *definitely* broadcast them widely on all possibly channels! At least I can personally make sure that the Ovi Blog picks up on all Ovi news =) @bchhliu & @Milhouse: No problem & thank you both for your feedback! My reply to @cjp applies to you as well =) I have forwarded all the incoming comments & feedback to the appropriate teams, so they are definitely aware of the situation and are working continuously to make our services better. And you’re right, Milhouse: as that process moves forward, our work in marketing becomes much easier & credible. I WILL make you like our comics one day, dammit! :) Also, I just noticed there’s another thread about this same topic, I think I’ll now head over there to give my two cents… =) Keep the feedback coming, guys! You never know who's lurking on your discussions... ;) -Niini |
Re: Angry man...... This time, he's really angry...
the ovi store is still beta, still has not got the big new games/apps that were meant to be released months ago and throw in all the payment stuff-ups.... and youre making comics ?! WTF, are you serious? how many customers you think have been lost? certainly none gained. !

Re: Angry man...... This time, he's really angry...
I think it's nice of you to stop by, but as of right now to me(no offense), you sound like nothing more than some PR rep that Nokia has sent to these boards in efforts to bring peace for whatever reason - whether it's to gain back a small portion of your customers or simply to just retain Nokia's image.
I know for a fact that I'm not the first disappointed customer you've heard, but I also know that I won't be the last. If all you can do is "pass/forward the message on to the correct team(s)", then that means you basically have no power whatsoever in changing our situations. Why bother intervening then? PR, simply PR. I'm not denying that it's not important because it certainly is, but we're already past that now - don't you think? But this isn't to be confused with the fact that I know that no single person has the power to change our positions. I just wish it were someone here that is actually on the team or in charge of such, that could possibly influence the direction where this is all heading. Personally, I don't see that happening with someone from the Ovi Blog "forwarding" our comments and suggestions. Why? Because I know for a fact that we've been heard, but after all this time, I believe we're just being ignored. &add: I'll start believing when I start seeing REAL results. Not overpriced apps on the Ovi store, false promises, or being some 'ghost' that just lurks around giving the impression that "Nokia still listens!" but forgetting to add the part that "What goes in one ear, goes out the other". Sugar coat your responses any way you want, but I know for a fact that you're not capable of changing any of this. All you can do is preserve Nokia's image because you're either employed or affiliated with them. In the real world where we live, at least where I live, I deal with reality and the way things really are - not the way it's presented to me by someone else. -- My intention isn't to offend or make this personal, but all my words are towards the general direction of the Ovi team. |

@Ovi_Blog
Could I publicly ask you something? Do you yourself, anyone you know or work with, actually use the N900? I mean as a daily phone, not just as a test bench. |
