MicroB and HTML5
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
Engadget has a story about a future Blackberry OS6 internet browser (http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/20/b...tition-in-a-g/) that scored 208 on the HTML5 test (http://html5test.com/). So I did the test with MicroB since I figured that worlds best mobile browser would fare better. Well.... It scored 149. My question to all technical people, what causes MicroB to score so low and what can be done about it? Are there any settings that can be toggled to improve HTML5 performance or is it strictly code based and until Mozilla/Nokia updates MicroB, it will continue to score on the low side. Could the HTML5 performance of MicroB been a deciding factor in it not being used in as the default browser for Meego? Anyway, here is a screenshot of the MicroB score. Please run the HTML5 test on your device and report your score. I would like to see if all MicroBs score the same score or if it is hardware/software configuration based. Thank you all for viewing and participating. |
Re: MicroB and HTML5
Take in account that html5 is still a draft, so is not wrong if your browser does not get a high score in that.
In other words, maybe the devs gets lazy, and thats all. |

Does anyone else have MicroB results. I am thinking if they are the same 149 as mines then it would definately be a browser code issue as we all probably have differences in our hardware/software settings. |
Re: MicroB and HTML5
opera 10.1b scores 72 or 79 +1 (forgot exact #) on n900
my microb scores 149+1 as well. edit: the 4 bonus points come from the audio portion of the tab. devices need not support some extra codecs, but if they do, they get a bonus point for each extra codec supported best on my devices is srware iron (based off chromium) for 197+3 (desktop) |
Re: MicroB and HTML5
FF 4 Beta does a bit better with 189 + 9
