I can't seem to rename the file in the public folder.

could anyone check if it is possible to rename a file that you have uploaded in "Public" folder. because i can't. I press Rename button, and change the name, and the I press OK. but it doesn't effect anything.

Dear all,

Since a re-flash I can no longer log to my account using dropn900. I get the "email/password invalid" message, though I'm 100% sure they are typed in all right. Would it be possible to supply it with access token with proper values some other way?

This essential app has suddenly stopped working for me today. (v0.1.8)

1. Synch is failing and I do not see a tree.

2. I have attempted to reset all settings. Now the "only Sync while on on WLAN" tickbox is ticked and greyed out ..as is the synch path entry.

3. I have uninstalled ..and cleaned via x-term and re-installed again. To no avail

Using pr1.3 (vodafone uk variant)

Dropbox working fine on my PC.

Edit: Some five Hours later: App just suddenly sprung into life. Tree re-appeared and I was able to change settings and synch again!

i FULLY appreciate your effort so far. but at the moment i must confess the app is not worthy of reliance.

I have a problem installing dropN900. The application manager gives me the answer "conflict with python2.5-qt4-gl (4.7.4-maemo0)".

Any hints what I can do? Sorry if this is a noobish question. :)

I see missed files during sync.

I have a local directory that has multiple pictures. But after sync, some files don't show up in my DropBox.

Here is the log file. I'm not if these 403 errors are the cause of missed files.

If I do sync again, it will start to upload those missed files. It's funny to see that the number of files need to be synced drops from 235 to 72, to 22, to 8, to 2, to 1. And then finally all files are synced.

So my guess is that something went wrong during the sync. But I think DropN900 should report those errors and show the user which files are not synced. Better yet, if it can re-try those failed syncs.

Hope this hasn't already been asked, but will dropn900 sync even when the app isn't open, if not is there an x-term command I can use for it to update.

Also in the change log I have noticed mentioning of a widget, is there a desktop widget for dropn900?

No sorry I have stopped implementing features to this app. Unfortunately Maemo5 is dead, so might be Meego. If I had any interest continuing this app it was because of meego. Not it has been abandoned and my work/private life schedules are too busy to do any more on this :)

I hope that everyone can appreciate what they got free and that I used hundreds of hours of my own summer holiday to make you all this app. It's not perfect, but it does some neat things with just a limited REST API from Dropbox.

No there is no headleass (no ui) mode, or auto scripts. And no desktop widget.

I'm sorry to hear this as I was really hoping for an auto-sync feature, and I know others have other features they were hoping for as well.

Still as you say, you put quite a bit of time into this program all for free. I know I really appreciate the version I have. Thank you for all the work you put into bringing Dropbox to the Maemo platform.

That said, is there any chance you'll release the source somewhere? There may be someone else willing to pick up the project and continue where you left off....

Code has been public from day one :) https://github.com/jonnenauha/DropN900 the link is also in the first post. Really easy to fork the repo in github, start developing, make features, make a pull request for me and ill pull your code. This is how I would like to do this app forward. If people are interested in getting involved please do, I can propably still do release updates still and help with fitting the code in if there are problems :) If you want to test your code, just copy your code to /opt/dropn900 to replace my files, and it will use my app key to do the requests! If you want to test with your own keys, just register with dropbox and follow where to put them from code.

Hi. I am trying to sync folders / files not in my DropN900 folder. On other OSes you can symlink to other folders but I'm getting the error "Operation not permitted".

What can I do to fix this?

I'm not sure whether I'm missing something or not...
How do I assign a folder location on the N900 to sync with a dropbox equivalent folder?

I've added the dropbox folders in the settings for both the dropbox location and the download location on the n900...

I cannot get the two to sync when I hit the sync option.
I would like whatever I've placed in that particular folder on the N900 to be uploaded to my drop box account.

Any suggestions?

btw the media sync option works fine and uploads my media files to the dbox account.

I think I ran into a bug of some sort while trying to upload multiple files.

I created a new folder, and moved 9 files in it. I then fired up DropN900, re-created the folder, and went to settings and selected the new folder for sync.
I then got this, seemingly confirming that it correctly scanned and found all the nine files:

After the upload completed (it said 9/9), I found out that only 6 files actually appeared on my desktop dropbox folder and the dropbox website. I tried to sync it again, and this time it said it completed 3/3, but only 8 files were in the desktop folder.

I re-ran the test with a new folder, and received "9/9 were completed" again yet 8 actually made it to the dropbox folder.

I then checked the DropN900 folder view, and in the test folder it wasn't listing all the files that actually exist in the folder. Still, in the upload confirmation it listed them all, and in the transfer log it said "9/9". What could this be?

i installed this application but i cant make it works.
I created a folder named DropN900 in my Dropbox account, and when i want to choose this folder in settings it does nt choose it. I tried other folders but the button to choose the path remains empty.

If I'm not mistaken, it's just another way of saying "DropN900 won't synchronize unless connected to a WLAN" (i.e. it will not synchronize when you're connected via 3G).
